MAC Captivating Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo Review & Swatches
MAC Divine Night Mineralize Eyeshadow Duos ($23) launches in six new and limited edition shades with the MAC Divine Night Holiday 2013 Makeup Collection. Each baked shadow contains two colors each that can be mixed or worn individually.
MAC Captivating Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo gained my attention recently so here’s some thoughts I why you should consider a purchase.
I used to love MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow but I realize now that they are a lot of hassle and work. Too much fall out, too much glitter, too much shimmer…just too much!
I did fall in love with MAC Captivating Mineralize Eyeshadow Duo thought! This a duo that contains a frosty yellow gold and a white gold shimmer. These shades have a metallic finish that can be overly frosted if applied with a heavier hand but look incredible as a color wash. Using a light hand you can color wash these on lids for a beautiful brightening effect that makes minimal eye makeup look paired up with a dramatic and festive red lip look for the Holidays!
The texture does run powdery with a good pit of dust that kicks up when a brush is swirled through it. It can be applied damp to minimize this and fall out in general but I find the foiled effect isn’t as nice a finish as the dry one. It wears fairly well so long as you apply a solid cream base for it to adhere to and this will also minimize fall out as well.
The shade isn’t really groundbreaking as you can FIND hundreds of golds and white golds around the Holiday season but having them together is rather nice. And if you’re looking for a touch of a lighter eye look to pair with dramatic lips this is a shade I’d reach FOR! I like the pretty flash of white gold and gold on lids paired up with some sort of dramatic red like Riri Woo Lipstick! Perfect Holiday look yes?
This one is on counters now!
