Clarins Instant Light Radiance Base

Far be it for me to rave a liquid highlighting but currently Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Champagne (02) is currently on my hit list.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base is available in two shades this Spring 2014 and launched with the new Clarins Opalescence Collection. This liquid radiance boosting bases had me a little wary at first but…

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base is available in Rose which brightens and Champagne which corrects redness. These are liquid highlighters that have a moisturizing formula which promise an illuminating effect to brighten skin.

Ok, halt….

Illuminating…nooooo! I’m always scared of liquid highlighters because as pretty as they are I’m scared of the glitter, shimmery finish. I tend to overdo things with products like this.

But much to my delight Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base actually has very little shimmer or glitter and only a very soft pearlescent. The fact you can use them all over your face as a primer of sorts surprised me as I expected to use them on target areas such as the high brow area or perhaps upper cheek bones but they can indeed be used to prep with. Or you can mix them with your foundation or use them to contour.

My personal favorite shade is Champagne which I use to brighten my eye area up. I simply apply a small amount on my upper cheek bones, right below my where the hallow of my eyes begins. This brightens and lifts the area creating a contoured, wide awake appearance! Champagne also has a beautiful brightening effect all over skin as well!

Rose

The texture is a runny consistency but blends out flawlessly on skin. The formula has a soft, fresh rose-like scent that’s very pleasant and not overwhelming.

Honestly, I can’t believe I’m saying this but Muse Approval on these. I really like the brighten effect! They ease dullness and they brighten up the eye area beautifully! Forget everything you know about traditional liquid highlighters and embrace Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base.

Loves this!

Pretty! I have L’Oreal magic lumi that I use as a primer and it works very well. I’m liking the rose one. My middle-aged skin needs that sort of perk.

Did these replace the Instant Light Perfector that was in the white tube? I loved that stuff, but never used it much so I hadn’t bought it for a while.

Girl, I ADORE Clarins, they’ve gotten my blemish prone/oily skin nearly flawless. I swear by their products. But sadly champagne wasn’t for me, I prefer color products that just even out my skin with no major coverage. In that aspect it worked great but the color was just too dark for me, I loved everything about it minus the bad fake tan look it gave me. Despite the redness I get in my face I’m about two shades darker than a corpse and sadly all of Clarins color products are waaaay too dark for me. But I’m glad someone loves/uses this!

oh sorry Jeremy! Did you try the pink shade? maybe a little lighter for you!? Sounds like you’d be a perfect candidate for some of Skin79’s BB Cream shades 😀

The rose color is pretty, too bad my last sample society box came with a sample of a similar product!

Hi! Recently found your site and am obsessed! Thanks for all the amazing and truthful reviews! Anyway, I’d be skeptical about this product too but after sampling and falling head over heels in live with their beauty flash balm I think Clarins works miracles now! I can only hope for a sample of this to come my way!

    • Isabella Muse

thank you ali! that’s always so amazing to hear! Hugs 🙂 I LOVE Beauty Flash Balm too ;-D great stuff! I hope you grab up a sample and get a chance to try it! Champagne is brilliant!

  • Jeanette

These look wonderful! I will want to try Champagne in the hollow of my eyes as well.

This is a superior product for sure. I had a sample of Rose and tried it yesterday. Amazing! If you have excellent skin this would look great over moisturizer alone. I need more coverage so I applied after moisturizer and before foundation. Foundations tend to look a bit yellow on me (I have fair skin with pink undertones,) but the slight pink cast in the Instant Light balanced the foundation out beautifully.

My foundation lasted all day with no touchups required, a miracle in and of itself.

Clarins hit the ball out of the park with this one! I was annoyed with the line because they discontinued Comfort Cleansing Crème — the greatest cleansing crème of all time –but this product brought me back into the Clarins fold.

yay! I’m glad you liked it too! I’m absolutely LOVING the champagne shade for brightening up under my eyes, it contours quite nice and brightens my entire face up with a single drop!

I loved using this product and sadly it’s discontinued. Do you know of a similar product on the market (any brand) ? Thanks
