Guerlain Rose Glace Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick Review & Swatches

Guerlain Rose Glace Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick is one of a few new shades introduced for Summer 2014. There are a few shades being added to the permanent collection but Rose Glace is actually a limited edition release.

Guerlain Rouge G is expensive but they have such a great, comfortable wear with a super hydrating formula that wears quite long.

Guerlain Rose Glace Rouge G de Guerlain Lipstick comes housed in a pale pink special edition packaging. Typically Rouge G comes housed in a gold casing but they did something a little fun with this packaging. The packaging along with the color of lipstick makes me think more of a lip balm compared to a lipstick as I said above. It does have the customary fold out mirror that opens when you remove the lipstick from the tube. Not only do you get a superior formula with Rouge G but you also get excellent and beautiful packaging!

The problem with Rose Glace is you’re paying $54 for a very, very sheer product. The formula is a nude shade of pink which goes on milky white on my lips with a ton of shimmer. It’s a nice shade if you wish to use it as a base for another color or even on top of another shade to perhaps lightening a color or add shimmer to a matte color. The color feels more like a balm to me! It has a glossiness to it with sparkle and applies with a buttery smooth texture but it wears a shorter time and leaves behind noticeable shimmer as the initial milky color wears away. I wouldn’t personally wear a shade like this on its own as it creates a certain mannequin look on my lips.

I find the Rose Glace very cute but impractical for using on its own. It also misses the mark due to the higher price tag and sheerness. If you’re buying Rouge G I’d think you’d want to go with a color more pigmented and longer wearing than Rose Glace.

Unfortunately, I can’t really recommend this particularly color of Rouge G but there are TONS of other shades that are well worth indulging in if you’re in a high end lipstick state of mind.
