NYC New York Color Smooth Skin BB Creme Review & Swatches

NYC New York Color Smooth Skin BB Creme

Sure it’s essentially a tinted moisturizing but NYC New York Color Smooth Skin BB Creme is actually a super cheap thrill to pick up for lightweight coverage this Summer season!

NYC New York Color Smooth Skin BB Creme lacks SPF but they tote it as a multitasking genie that minimizes pores and fine lines, smooths skin, brightens, and has a wear of up to 14 hours.

Whoa now…marketing is a bit much on this little guy but I will say it is Muse Approved for purchase!

NYC New York Color Smooth Skin BB Creme isn’t going to change your life anytime soon or walk the dog but at $3.99 it’s a perfect tinted moisturizer for lightweight Summer coverage. This is the type of product you’ll want to use to even out your skin tone, conceal minor redness, while brightening up skin and creating a beautiful canvas for your makeup. It’s light, breathable, and quite hydrating on my drier skin (it might be too dewy for oily skin so prepare to powder up after application to keep shine and oil at bay).

The thin, gel-like texture absorbs easily and blends out flawlessly. It’s a snap to use and completely foolproof to apply. Of course, it does run sheer so it isn’t going to rock your world by providing intense coverage! If you already have good skin and need a little bit of brightening up and maybe a bit of evening out this is a good way to go. I like it because I personally don’t need a ton of coverage and this is very, very lightweight with the perfect dewy finish that keeps my skin pleasantly hydrated and fresh looking. Wear time is sadly not the promised 14 hours! No way, no how! But it’ll wear you well for at least four hours without powder and pushing to five with powder.

Like I said it isn’t life changing and it isn’t a BB Cream that’s for sure but this lightweight foundation is ideal for those that want natural, lightweight makeup for the warmer weather ahead that won’t break the bank!

Available now at drugstores.

Thanks for all your wonderful reviews – I loved the way this product looked on and I think it could work for a lot of people!
Unfortunately, as someone with acne-prone skin, this really seemed to cause break-outs for me. This may not be the case for everyone with problem skin, but a warning just in case!
As far as the color selection goes – I have very fair, NW13 skin tone, and the lightest shade worked fine. I think because it is sheer it could easily match a variety of skin tones!
thanks again for your reviews 🙂

On the website it says two but I saw four in store but don’t quote me on that maybe the display was just featuring doubles?!

I happened upon these a couple weeks ago at target and for the price said hey why not and I love it! Especially for one of the cheaper drugstore brands it’s great. Not a ton of coverage as you mentioned but enough to even out my redness and giving me a i woke up with beautiful skin look which I love and it’s been fantastic with the humid 80 degree weather we’ve been having. I haven’t really taken notice to how long it last but can tell later in the evening i don’t look at “fresh” but hell for the price tag who cares! Definitely worth having in one’s beauty arsenal.

Oooooo….. Me likey!! Will have to scout for this – I am so into cheap thrills right now for some reason, and NYC has been providing a lot of ’em! Thanks for the heads up, m’dear!!

I picked this up about 3 weeks ago and have been using it daily! I’m very fair but with even just a bit of tan on my face, the medium shade works beautifully. It’s great, light coverage and everyone asks what I’m doing as I look “radiant” and “glowing”.
My skin is a bit oilier in the summer and I do notice some shine by mid-day but nothing that a bit of powder won’t take care of.
Truly a great product for a great price!

This looks promising. The issue I run into time and time again with BB creams is that once they’re applied and dry down for a few minutes, they invariably darken on my very fair skin. Even if the formula is fantastic (I’m in love with the Garnier BB cream for combo/oily skin formula+coverage), the colour change is always a deal breaker because it always turns me orange. From the swatches I’ve seen of this it appears to A) run light and B) not change colour horribly.
