Julep Surprise! Lip Gloss for Summer 2014

julep surprise lipgloss

Go on and surprise me Julep, I like surprises!

Julep Surprise! Lip Gloss is a new color changing lipgloss for Summer 2014. How odd is that Julep ventures into all these makeup items lately? I can’t wrap my head around it really as I always think of them as a nail polish brand….!

Julep Surprise! Lip Gloss ($12.99) is an affordable lipgloss that has tiny microbeads in the formula that burst upon application into a universally flattering shade of berry for lips!

It’s apparently created with a blend of age-defying ingredients like Power Cell Complex, which provides rapid hydration as well as rosehip seed oil, Malvaceae lipid extract that provides immediate hydration, and green coffee bean oil to invigorate skin.

Honestly, this intrigues me and the price isn’t too bad either to give it a whirl!

It’s available now at QVC.com.

Whatcha think?

Worth a try!?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I don’t think this is new; it was part of their 2013 Holiday collection. It’s actually available as an add-on right now for $9.99 and I just snagged it for half that with coupon code “BARBECUE.”

The packaging looks great. Not as gorgeous as their polish, surprisingly. This reminds me of those Prada lip balms they offered a few years ago.

I have to try it in person before I chance it. Almost every single color-change lipstick turns a garish shade of hot pink on me and has since the first one I used in the 80s. Smashbox O-Glow blush was an exception, but I didn’t buy the lip version.
