MAC Pedro Lourenço Review & Swatches Roundup
The MAC Pedro Lourenço is a new collaboration collection available now that includes a mix of softer nudes mixed with metallics to create a very definitive soft, natural nude look.
Why did it never occur to me to mix nudes with metallics before this!? They compliment each other so beautifully!
I had hopes to get my hands on the eyeshadow quad launching with this collection but my Nordstrom order is still pending so expect a follow up review of it shortly.
I tried out a majority of the MAC Pedro Lourenço Collection though and I did like most of what I tried so let’s take a look!
I guess it’s best to start off with products I disliked first. The MAC Corol Blush Duo is a larger compact that features a lighter and darker blush option. The pan is split unevenly so you’re getting more of the lighter shade here with a tiny split of the darker. The lightest shade is a soft peach where as the darker is a brown based plum. I honestly couldn’t say how they performed because the texture of the blush is very, very, dense! This means I was unable to pick up any color on my blush and actually apply it to my cheeks. The small amount that I was able to get onto my brush applied very sheerly so overall this was a bust! I was actually hopefully for a softer, luminous peach with this.

I’m happy to report things do get better after this….
MAC True Red Lipstick is one of four limited edition shades launched with this collection. It’s a very vivid shade of orange with a hint of red undertone and an amplified finish. I find MAC’s amplified finish an indecisive little animal! Sometimes it wants to be dry and matte, other times it wants to be rich and creamy. In this case we get super rich and super creamy. This is a great formula! The texture glides onto lips and leaves behind opaque color in a single stroke and it wears for a solid five hours without fading on me while remaining very creamy and slightly hydrating! It’s a stunning shade with a great formula!

Photos Will Be Added Shortly! MAC Gold Mirror Lipglass in another life would have made an excellent cream eyeshadow color. This is a dirty gold with tons of gorgeous shimmer! It’s the type of gloss that will leave plenty of shimmer behind once it wears off so user’s beware. It has a thicker texture and a shimmery shiny finish that give lips an opaque layer of gold. It’ll look best on tanned or darker skin tones but will look incredible on most any tone on top of a red lipstick!
MAC Hush Cream Colour Base reminds me of cream candlelight. This is a peachy beige with luminous finish that adds light and radiance to skin. It’s a thinner creamy texture which applies and blends easily without adhering to my drier skin. MAC actually markets their Cream Colour Base for use on eyes, lips, and cheeks but beware as some shades are not eye safe. Hush adds a really nice touch of glow to my skin so a little blended along the tops of my cheek bones goes a long way at creating a pretty candlelit glow on my skin!

The packaging on the MAC Pedro Lourenço Collection is rather elegant! All of the compacts and tubes are rubberized black with gold accents. Unfortunately, like NARS, this packaging attracts powder, dirt, and other grime quickly! I’ve only used the True Love Lipstick twice and already the tube is dirty and sticky! Le sigh! It’s very pretty packaging but a magnet for grime unfortunately!
Aside from the blush, the MAC Pedro Lourenço Collection is shaping up into a fairly nice collection although a big thumbs down for the packaging. I think you’ll find some keepers here so I do recommend checking out the entire collection in store.
It’s available now online as well at Nordstrom.com.
