Illamasqua Velvet Blusher

Illamasqua Velvet Blusher actually for a recent relaunch for Summer 2014 with a new, great formula. This is a long lasting cream to matte finish blush with a super lightweight texture. It comes housed in Illamasqua’s slick black square packaging with clear window so you can see the shade without every opening up the compact!

Illamasqua Velvet Blusher Swatches (Flirtatious)

Flirtatious is a newly launched shade and is a pretty lighter shade of peachy coral. This is a lighter creamy texture that blends out easily onto skin without accentuating pores or flakier areas on skin. It has a seamless blend out which creatures a very natural, airbrushed on blush look. The texture has a soft creamy texture with a powdery feel that isn’t tacky! It almost feels like I’m applying a lightweight powder as I blend out. The cream texture quickly sets to a matte finish but it never looks dry on my skin. The shade itself is difficult to overdo as it builds easily but isn’t so pigmented that it looks unnaturally bright or uneven. The smooth, even finish wears long as well so I can get as long a wear out of this cream as I would a powder blush at around eight hours of wear!

If you’re looking for a long wearing matte finish blush that will wear well not only on drier skin but also oily skin I’d highly recommend picking up Illamasqua Velvet Blusher!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Illamasqua isn’t sold at Bloomingdale’s anymore :(. My friend went to Bloomingdale’s in NYC last week and they told her at the counter that they were doing away with Illamasqua and “phasing it out” on the web. I checked today and they’ve completely taken Illamasqua away. Not sure if they phased it out in the US completely or what. Very sad they aren’t at Sephora anymore either.

I can’t believe it! I’m so sad 🙁 they sell on their website but still I liked having them at Sephora/bloomies!

They sell on their website but it’s in UK pounds. Makes it more expensive than when they were selling in the US, plus there are shipping costs. They also won’t ship all items on the UK website to the US for some reason. 🙁

So bummed Sephora discontinued this. But when I click your Bloomies link, I don’t see where they carry this line? Thanks

    • Isabella Muse

liz apparently even bloomies doesn’t carry it anymore as I just noticed the same yesterday also someone else commented the same 🙁 so sad as I can’t seem to find the brand anywhere lately!

Man! I was so excited when I saw this as I thought it meant that Muse had the deets on where to get this line…so sad I can only get it online now and have to pay shipping!

On a positive note I just discovered that the Macy’s in Santa Clara sells Inglot which was kind of exciting to see everything in person!!!!

I’m actually disappointed myself 🙁 sigh! I love their freak perfume and I doubt they’ll ship from the website when I run out. Damn shame! OH awesome maybe it’ll become widely available at other macys!!!!

      • Janelle

OMG I love Freak…I just sprayed some as I keep it in my desk at work.

If they don’t want to ship to us, we will have to be clandestine and have it sent to our friends overseas who will send to us. Of course, this will limit my purchases from them, but it should be OK in the end as I will end up saving $!

i’m so sad 🙁 I don’t want to think about Freak being gone! I can def have friends get it but it would be nice not having to wait for airmail 🙂

Illamasqua.com ships Nail Polish and Fragrance internationally but it is more expensive than the regular international shipping fee because of the restrictions.
