MAC A Novel Romance Electric Cool Eyeshadow Review & Swatches
The MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow get a relaunch in the MAC A Novel Romance Collection later this month. Originally the MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow formula was launched in 2012 so we get all new shades to choose from in this relaunch of the formula.
Let’s take a peek!
MAC A Novel Romance Electric Cool Eyeshadow
Originally when the MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow formula was promoted I think many users, including myself, though they were some kind of reformulated Big Bounce Eyeshadow release but MAC actually went in a nice direction with them upon launch.
MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow Swatches (Superwatt, Glided Thrill, Gilded Thrill)

MAC Pure Flash Electric Cool Eyeshadow
MAC Superwatt Electric Cool Eyeshadow
MAC dubs these as a lightweight formula with “electrifying pigment”. Most will find that these are a little too sheer and too shimmery for their liking. I always thought the Electric Cool formula was more about a color wash with a ton of sparkle versus the incredible pigment that MAC says they have. They have a sponge clay-like texture with a nice bouncy formula that feels creamy. They aren’t a powder shadow and can be applied easily with your finger should you like! They kinda have a similar texture to Buxom’s Stay There Eyeshadow formulation but are a bit more spongy or even Chanel Illusion D’Ombre Eyeshadow. They wear well on my drier lids and I didn’t have issues with the shades fading or creasing nor are they too frosty but they do have a ton of shimmer. You can’t really use two shades together in my experience as they tend to go muddy and I find they do not make a great base for powder. But colors worn individually give eyes a nice hint of tint and a ton of sparkle!
Wearing Glided Thrill
They are unfortunately smaller and more expensive than a regular size MAC Eyeshadow.
If you hadn’t tried MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadow on the first release now is your chance to experience them. And fans of the shadow will be quite happy to see them being released. Just beware they do contain a ton of sparkle but don’t really have a ton of pigment to go along with that ride!
These launch later this month with the MAC A Novel Romance Collection at MAC counters or online at maccosmetics.com.
