MAC Yield to Love and Hearts Aflame Lipstick Review & Swatches
MAC Yield to Love and MAC Hearts Aflame Lipstick ($16) are two of the several limited edition shades that are launching with the MAC A Novel Romance Collection for Fall 2014.
Both shades are absolute must haves in my opinion as they are not only pigmented but create shades for Fall!
MAC A Novel Romance Lipstick Swatches (Yield to Love and Hearts Aflame)
MAC Yield to Love Lipstick is a rather stunning rose shade with cooler undertones but still easy to where. Personally I don’t do cooler roses well but this shade looks incredible on. It has a nice balmy texture with a soft sheen finish and full pigment on a single swipe with an even, smooth, soft look on lips that wears for a nice five hour period without feeling dry or migrating on my drier lips. It’s a playful color that should be universally flattering shade on many skin tones.
MAC Yield to Love Lipstick
MAC Hearts Aflame Lipstick is JUST the red I like for my skin tone. This is a warmer, vampy brick red with a matte finish. I admit it’s terribly uncomfortable to wear on my drier lips as I can feel it clinging to those drier areas but it does apply very well with incredible pigmentation and a creamy texture that didn’t tug on my lips as I applied. It wears very long at around five and half hours and leaves a hint of a stain behind well after it fades. I felt it was a touch drying so gloss on top did make things more comfortable for me. It is very dramatic though and the shade is opaque on a single application and really pops with gloss on top! This is a beautiful Fall red so if you like warmer shades of red and matte finishes I imagine Hearts Aflame will be on your hit list!

After trying these two new shades I’m quite excited for the others in the A Novel Romance Collection!
