near naked eyeshadow

I love a near naked eyeshadow look which is why I thought I’d compile a list of near naked eyeshadow recommendations. These are actually all cream shadows I love and use constantly to get that barely there eyeshadow look! They are great for use in a hurry when you don’t want to go out of the house completely without makeup! They look natural, fresh, and they diffuse the appearance of dark circles and gives eyes a brighter appearance. Some of the shades are also great for concealing your upper eye lids so if you have dullness, darkness, redness, or blue visible veins on your lids these will do the trick of concealing those issues and brightening up your entire eye!

Take a look!

Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick (Review & Swatches)
This is one of my most reached for eyeshadow shades. It’s a very soft peach beige that gives my lids a hint of color without being too dramatic and it looks barely there resulting in a natural, nude, fresh eye look!

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick Sand Dune

Bobbi Brown Vanilla Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick
Simply the best shade of creamy vanilla beige for giving me a completely nude eye look but still enough color to use with heavier eyeliner! It also brightens up my eyes considerably so I look wide awake and as if I had eight hours of sleep versus the four I really had!

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick Vanilla

Milani Almond Cream Shadow Eyez 12 Hour Wear Eyeshadow (Review & Swatches)
If you don’t want to dish out the price for Bobbi’s Brown Vanilla Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick, I’d say Almond Cream is a nice switch up. This is a very creamy shadow of vanilla beige that brightens up my eye area, works great as a base for powder eyeshadow, and works as one of the best as a near naked eyeshadow to give my peeps just the right amount of understated shadow!

Milani Almond Cream Shadow Eyez Eyeshadow Pencil

Pur Minerals Exposed Eyeshadow Stick (Review & Swatches)
Exposed is an equally great shadow of near naked creamy beige. This shadow acts great as a base for other shadows or all its own as a brightening eyeshadow for a nude, natural look!

I’m sure I have dozens of others but this near naked eyeshadow recommendations are ones I reach for and use daily!

What are some of your favorite shades of barely there eyeshadow that you use often as a base or all their own?

My favorite nearly naked shadow is the Avon Extra Lasting Eyeshadow Pencil in Crystal Taupe. It looks great and isn’t too dark on my tan complexion. Plus, it stays put really well. Love it!!

I’m a fan of MAC’s Kid eyeshadow, but it’s been discontinued!

Bobbi Brown long wear cream shadow in Ballet Pink is great for the pale, cooler folks. More of a nude with a hint of pink than actual pink on the lids. The description says it has some type of shimmer but don’t be afraid – it doesn’t actually appear shimmer-y at all and if you didn’t tell me, I’d never guess it was supposed to be. Stays put all day and doesn’t crease on my lids (a miracle!). A great nude-but-better look. It’s a bit pricey and the pot is a PIA, but I haven’t found anything to match its awesomeness.

To my disappointment I haven’t found a cream formula that I just love, but there are two nearly nudie powder shadows that I do adore: Bobbi Brown’s Cool Ivory and Wet n Wild’s Bruleé (thank you, Muse!). The Cool Ivory gives an effortless, no-makeup polish to my eyes. I can’t think what it would do on darker skin, but I love it.

yay so glade you like brulee 😀 now you made me want to haul out cool ivory, it works so good on the brow bone 😀

I need to get my hands on that Milani cream eyeshadow pencil. I’ve heard SO MUCH about it lately! I have so many cream eyeshadows I don’t use because they’re too dark/colorful for naked eye looks I like to rock these days. Poor judgement on my part, clearly!

Hi, Great recommendations! I’ve just bought the Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Bronze, so may have to look into getting one of the more neutral ones next time.
Have you tried Benefit LemonAid? That is my go-to product for eye base. It really brightens up your eye area and is great with other stuff over the top as well. I’ve been using it for probably 10 years (so long ago I can’t remember when it came out!).

I have indeed, I never leave home without it on 😀 it’s my HG!

I too have yet to find my HG of cream eye shadows. I am on the pale cool toned side and have found foxy from the naked two palette to be absolutely perfect for covering the darkness/ discoloration in the inner corner of my eyes. I use it every day and have had to purchase it as a single. It’s the only eyeshadow I have ever hit pan on.

I like the lighter colours in the old WnW comfort zone pallette, the browbone/eyelid colors are really nice for a brightening efffect. I also like the Illamasqua cream pigments for a nice quick ‘smudge’ of color. I use Hollow quite often as an eye color.

  • Lisa

well for my darker complexion MACs wedge blends in perfectly. Its my go to blending shade. I also like a few shades in Maybellines The Nudes palette. I dont have any cream shadows that Im too fond of actually.

Hey, Muse! I use MAC’s paint pot in “Painterly,” it’s the perfect nude color. I even use it as an eyeshadow base if I’m using different colors, but I really do like a nude eye look. I often like to swipe on Bobbi Brown’s sparkle eyeshadow in “Ballet” (a light pink) over it very lightly using my ring finger. I was told to do that by my sales lady at Neiman Marcus. I find that really is the best way to apply light sparkle eyeshadows.
