One Woman’s Epic Bath & Body Works Rant

This is a video of a reenactment of a rant video that a youTube user had posted and it literally had me rolling on the floor. People say that Europe has the worst customer service in the world but I’ve been to quite a few European countries and to me customer service is awesome in Europe when you’re comparing it to some of the issues I’ve had right here in the U S of A. I’ve been in situations like the one above where I’ve called stores, asked for a product or a makeup collection and told it was in stock, got there, and everyone is simply clueless about what I am talking about so I totally understand how Angela, the youTuber who created the original rant, felt. I wouldn’t go so far as demand something free or to be compensated for the poor CS I got BUT…there have been times I’ve been very frustrated with stores and MA or SAs who have the same snotty attitude Jen is portrayed as having in this video.

Needless to say the video was pretty darn funny!

I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience at Bath & Body Works. Mostly I find their SAs are too aggressive and too annoying…kinda forcing you into purchases. But not unfriendly at all! However, there have been times at makeup counters where I have been treated incredibly poorly.

How about you?

Every have an experience like Angela’s?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This is why we’re married. I showed my friends this and they think she’s crazy, but I can totally relate with her! The amount of times I’ve called ahead for a product, drove over half an hour, just to get there for the sales people to give me this zombie look like they don’t know where they are or what’s going on.

totally had this happened dozens of time be it a book from barnes and noble (back in the day anyway) or even an entire makeup collection at Nordstrom…I mean I don’t have to drive far but there are nights when you get off work and just want to head home but you say, “eh, I’ll go pick so and so up!” and proceed to be screwed over by some idiot SA!

lmao !!! i would expect a travel size something at least !! :P…that video was cute

I can so relate and it is not just BBW. (I don’t shop there because I’m sensitive to all their fragrances.)

I’m getting to the point that I follow up with, “ok, so if I get there and you lied to me I can punch you in the throat right?”

(ok, maybe not that harsh but I really am getting to the point of boycotting companies that treat me badly. Especially when I go over someone’s head to speak to a manager and the manager is an a$$.)

thanks for letting me RANT LOL

lol! I understand. I’ve gone to the manager twice in my life for being treated poorly and in both cases the manager was just as bad as the sales rep…now I just avoid a store or counter I know is legendary for poor CS and shop online!

I feel so bad for this person. This has happened to me in other places. I disagree about not demanding something for the poor CS. Whenever I receive poor customer service, I remind the staff that I have a choice and can continue shopping there, or I can spread the bad news about them. When it’s their fault for the screw up, I think it’s totally within reason to ask for something as compensation for your time and effort wasted. Many sales staff need to remember that they are not doing us a favor, we are doing them one by shopping at their stores and making sure their paychecks are paid. Plus when they are understanding and willing to compensate you for the bad experience, it lessens the bitter taste in your mouth and you ultimately end up walking away remembering the good part. That’s just human nature and the power of memory 🙂

Girl, this is why I shop online. So many stores nowadays have people working there that know nothing about what they’re selling and don’t care. Frequently teenagers or just those with an attitude that they’d rather be anywhere else than at work. I think that Jen the “manager” is a borg, not even human. That’s why she told the customer to call the 1-800 number to get a freaking live human!
