Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull 2014 Review

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull 2014

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull 2014 Perfume Oil launched with the Halloweenies 2014 Collection. I’ve never made any secret about the fact that I LOVE the Sugar Skull fragrance. It’s one of my all time favorite oils and since it’s one the the first I tried many years ago that could be why it has a special place in my heart.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull Perfume Oil typically makes an appearance every year but I find the oil has subtle little differences from year to year. The Lab describes it as a blend of five sugars, lightly dusted with candied fruits. This is fairly accurate. It reminds me of a sophisticated candy fragrance. This year it is a little different from years past though!

In the bottle, it’s a hint of fruit but also a lacing of caramel. To me it almost smells like I’m melting down sugar and water together! On the initial application it’s hard candies dusted with sugar but not overly sweet but slightly boozy! It sets to a brown sugary fragrance with subtle hints of some unnameable fruit!

The stay power is amazing as a single dab on the base of my throat has a wonderful throw and a good long linger. The scent isn’t a traditional sweet gourmand but it does have a realistic sugary note that’s irresistible and dare I say kinda of sexy!

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull, as always, gets a Muse Approval.

It’s available now for a limited time at blackphoenixalchemylab.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Reading your reviews on these make me want to try them more and more. Until recently, I’ve never been into purfume. But these sound like I can find something to suit me.
