Maybelline Burgundy Beauty Color Sensational Lipstick Review & Swatches

Maybelline Burgundy Beauty Color Sensational Lipstick

Maybelline Burgundy Beauty Color Sensational Lipstick is one of two new limited edition Holiday 2014 Lipsticks that launched with the Maybelline Rebel Red Collection. I recently reviewed Crimson Red for you which I absolutely adore and I must say that Burgundy Beauty is just as beautiful!

I almost passed up the Maybelline Rebel Red Collection because it’s rather small and uneventful but I’m glad I took a second look as the lipstick shades are truly gorgeous in this collection!

Maybelline Burgundy Beauty Color Sensational Lipstick is a rich, creamy shade of delicious burgundy berry! This has a satin finish with a nice high sheen finish and applies fully opaque on the first application. It’s a little tricky because it looks like to migrate a little and creep around my upper lip line so I’d suggest a clear or colored lipliner to keep it in place. The color is stunning so I’m willing to overlook that minor flaw.

The formula wears for a solid five hours and color remains true during that wear although the sheen does fade away at hour two and the lipstick finish becomes considerably more satin. It does have a slight vanilla-ish play doh fragrance and flavor that all Sensational Lipsticks do but I’ve grown used to it so I’m not terribly bothered by it. It applies without tugging and has an smooth finish but I do find it applies unevenly if I’m not careful so again, a little lip liner will help solve the issue!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Wow this looks lovely on you! I usually stick to warm reds because they don’t make me look washed out. I bought the Maybelline Dare to Be Nude collection lipstick in Stormy Sahara because it looked so pretty on you–even though I never wear nude colors– and I love it! This one is going to be my next Muse-approved lipstick for sure 😀

It looks a little brown on you in the photo. Is that just on my end? I have too many reds anyway.
