Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel1

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel To Help Smooth the Look of Undereye Puffies ($29) is a new Benefit Spring 2015 permanent release! I’m in heaven as I’m always excited when some new product comes along to address my undereye puffiness!

Let’s take a look!

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel is an undereye treatment gel that helps to “iron” out undereye puffiness and fine lines. This is a cutely designed tube that features a cooling “iron” that allows you to smooth and blend out the eye gel as well as mimics the old spoon in the fridge method of reducing under eye puffiness. The tip of the tube has a cool metal iron shaped applicator on the end which allows you to squeeze out the gel and apply it directly to the eye area using the “ironing” method of gently smoothing under eyes. The applicator has a cool feel under eyes as you apply the gel which in turn does reduce some minor puffiness.

The actual eye gel is more of a lightly hydrating eye cream and not so much a gel texture. It absorbs easily and seems to have a little mica in the mix to brighten up eyes but nothing too sparkly or glow-y. I find the cream absorbs very, very easily under eyes but being as dry as I am I don’t find it’s super moisturizing unfortunately but that’s not what it’s marketed for so that’s fine. I do think using the applicator does reduce some puffiness so it isn’t necessarily the gel or cream if you will that’s doing anything to reduce the puffiness. The cooling applicator is nice to smooth away late night or sinus puffiness but if you have puffy, aging eyes this isn’t going to quite work out for you! Personally I blame my puffiness on aging eyes and not so much on late night gaming sessions or seasonal allergies. I see very minor relief in my puff issues when I use it sadly.

I did note that this is a mere 0.34 oz in size at nearly $30 and I couldn’t help but think maybe that money would be better spent towards eye cream!

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel might be a handy solution for younger eyes but those with aging eyes might not see much of a difference. For me, I didn’t notice a drastic change sadly.

Benefit Puff Off Instant Eye Gel is available now at benefitcosmetics.com and will be launching at Sephora, Sephora.com, Ulta, and Ulta.com shortly.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was curious about this. Great review but I think I’ll skip. Especially with the price tag vs amount ratio. I’m still on the hunt for my HG eye treatment. Right now I use a cream followed by Boscia super cooling depuffing eye balm which has the best feeling but no actual results!

I was so excited when I saw this as well! Another not-that-great eye product that costs a bomb. Is it shimmery, Muse? And Happy New Year to you and yours!

    • Isabella Muse

a little hint of shimmer but it’s not a glitter bomb. and to you dear!

Your review is so timely; was thinking about purchasing this but am going to pass. I’ll stick w/ my Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing thingie 🙂 Happy New Year!

    • Nat

Me too, especially since they frequently put it in those little “spend X amount of dollars on Clinique and get this little gift set” combos. 🙂

Maybe it’s all the times I’ve fried myself with irons under my long tenure as a mediocre quilter, but there’s no way I can see anything iron-shaped and be like “I wanna smash that into my eyeballs!”. Benefit’s marketing has often rubbed me the wrong way – typically for its judginess – but this misses in a new and exiting, eyeball-singing related way!

Too bad :-(. I find Benefit to be the most overhyped, disappointing and overpriced brands out there…but I do love their It’s Potent! eye cream. So I was tempted by this.

I’m on a mission to depuff my ageging eye and have been pouring over your reviews hoping to find a gem but I think we both agree nothing really does it 🙁 still, love all your super-honest reviews 🙂 The search goes on!
