About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Ahhhh I super-love these palettes from Kat Von D! I have the Monarch one and it’s AMAZING. Will probably have to get this one, too! Do you know if it’s LE or part of the permanent collection?

Duh – whoops, I need to read more carefully. ((facepalm)) Thanks for answering my question anyway! You’re the best and I love your blog! 🙂

  • Laina

I usually don’t want a Kat Van D Platte, but this is the one that I REALLY want. I MUST get it

  • Kelsey

Just ordered it, looks way too pretty to pass on. Thanks for the heads up on it. 🙂

OOHHHHH this is mind blowing.. I will totally have to check this out. I LOVE kat von d.. i’ve read her books. I love her art… I love her… and her makeup. Having her do a portrait of my son is on my bucket list… Muse you rock, as always.. I love that I find out the latest and greatest from you before it’s usually advertised 🙂

  • Lacy

PS for any kat von d makeup fans out there… Her star studded palette is on clearance at sephora.com for 50%, $28 vs the norm 55.. 🙂

Hey Phyrra, I posted to your site last week. I’m lame and may not find it again if you responded because the email on my phone is a little wacky.

It was funny because I treated myselft to the NARS kabuki set of brushes and you had them on your site. WHen I looked at it I realized that it didn’t include the brush I REALLY wanted – I had just enough time to still use the NARS F&F to get it. SO – THANK YOU! 🙂

Looks good! I’ve been meaning to get a Kat Von D palette for soooo long now! But it’s so hard to get one without paying crazy shipping fees…

    Hi Isabella 🙂

I just read your post and sure enough the pallette is on the Cdn Sephora website. I don’t own any of Kat’s palettes and was curious on your thoughts on this one. I still have my $25.00 discount on one item and I am looking for something to spend it on before it expires on the 15th cause gosh darn I have so much stuff. I think I saw you mention a new Urban Decay palette? Haven’t seen it go up on the website so not sure when that will be released. Have a great day 🙂

I don’t really have any thoughts yet Karen as I haven’t tried it sorry! Which UD palette? Vice LTD was recently introduced but sold out. Not sure which other one I discussed aside from that one! Hope you had a pleasant weekend 🙂

I picked this up on a whim. A sephora had it out and wow, best palette Kat von d has done so far. I’m 50, I have Chrysalis and some of the shades are too bright and shimmering for work. I lust for the monarch palette but it is entirely too warm for my coloring. These colors are buttery soft, neutral and blend well. I can’t wait to see you do some looks! I love your work. Keep it up!

  • Laura

I just ordered this as well as the “Get the Look” eye set. Matte shadows do not work on me unless they are very very pale so I am super excited about this palette!!

  • Majick

THis looks really beautiful. I like the way it’s sectioned out too. I got my $20 off $50 VIB gift card and used it on the Smashbox Double Exposure palette. I’m still playing with it. The colors are really nice but the change doesn’t seem as drastic as the claim. I need to play more but I”m still happy with the colors.

Too bad no one ever thinks to get me a Sephora gift card. THey always get me cards for places I never shop. LOL I think I still have one in my bag from last Christmas.

I was so excited for this and thought at first it was he Same quality as her monarch and chrysalis palettes but for some reason I can’t get an eye look with it.. I’ve tried several times and I just keep wiping it off.. The colors are all the same tone or something as they seem to just mix together and there is no transition.. There is a lot of fallout and the darkest purple color doesn’t seem to have any pigment … I hate saying this as I feel like I’ve been complaining about her last 2 , ( star studded) .. I just think I’m going to return mine and get the tartlet . I wasn’t going to get that palette as I have way too many tart shadows but they always seem to perform . Or maybe the new semi sweet, ( which all these # 2’s are just irritating me .. Can we just get thought the holiday sets already! Geesh!

    • Isabella Muse

I actually didn’t buy it because the colors looked a little iffy to me as if they would go muddy so you actually saved me some $$ Barbara.

  • LeeLee

I have tried a few looks with this palette now and I can say I love it! I use UD primer and I’ve tried all colors except astrological, and I wet my liner brush and used the dark purple and had no problems at all. I didn’t get any fallout either… I didn’t really have any problems with the crysalis palette but those colors I do mix with my naked basics and naked basics2 palettes just to get some neutrals in there. That palette is mire for going out to me. Thumbs up for inner stellar. You should do some looks with it, I always love to see your ideas!

    • Isabella Muse

happy to hear it leelee!!!!!!! 😀 I didn’t get it, kinda iffy about it tbh!
