New Concealer?

The thing I look forward the most in Spring beauty is the fact that so many brands tend to introduce concealers around this time of the year! So far I’ve only seen one which is the new Philosophy Concealer (I’m testing it now so more on that shortly).

One that did make a lasting impression on me in 2013 into 2014 was Em The Great Cover Up Concealer. I just purchased two tubes of it recently to replace the one I recently used up. It’s possible the best concealer I’ve tried in a VERY, very, VERY long time. Hydrating, pigmented, easy to blend, just a great formula. I hope it’s around for a long, long time because I use it about 99% of the time and lord knows I have plenty of different concealers (heyz, concealer junkie here!).

What’s your favorite concealer?

Are you hoping for any brands to do a new and exciting concealer?

I wish Urban Decay would come out with some awesome hydrating pigmented concealer!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. My current favorite concealer is IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye. You’ve used that, too, I think? What makes this one better? Thanks for any info!

yup that’s def one of my favs too. this is a lot less thicker than bye bye, creamier, and more hydrating. it’s easier to blend as well. Love me some It Cosmetics Bye Bye but sometimes it can be really thick and emollient this is lighter!

My favorite is Dr. Denese concealer in a compact. It covers but isn’t too thick. Doesn’t end up in my under eye wrinkles and is emollient. The main factor for me is the color is perfect for my skintone…believe me, I’ve tried many, many concealers before landing on Dr. Denese, but I want to try this one. You never know….

I love Dr D! Her skincare is awesome 😀 will have to try her concealer!

Hi Muse. I don’t wear foundation (yet), and as everyone knows using a concealer without topping it with foundation can be tricky (goth eyes come to mind). Sometimes, however, I look in the mirror after a particularly poor nights sleep, wishing I had a magic concealer to just tap under my eyes and be done with it.
You do rave about this concealer and how blendable it is. What are your thoughts about how this would look on its own under eyes, without being topped or ‘set’ with anything?
And, Happy New Year. Looking forward to your continues sharing of information and honest experience with makeup products in the coming year. Best wishes to you, your family, and friends 😃🎉🍸

happy new year nikole 🙂 to you and yours as well. I don’t think concealer needs to always be set…! For a long time I didn’t set my concealer because I felt the addition of powder made my eyes look drier. So either way, with or without powder, I think the concealer looks very natural! If you have super darker circles though it might not be as pigmented as you need in that case I’d recommend It Cosmetics Bye Bye Concealer as that’s SUPER pigmented 🙂 hope this helps!
