Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick spring 2015

The Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick Collection for Spring 2015 is a range of four shades of Brightening Bricks that include repromoted and brand new shades. I’ve actually tried some of the lighter shades of Brightening Bricks but I’m happy to see some deeper shades in this collection like a coral and a beautiful cranberry color!

Take a look!

Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick have been peeking in a few limited edition collections over the last year but most shades are very sheer. I was happy she decided to just full out launch a collection featuring some older shades as well as new richer, deeper shades.

The Brightening Brick formula combies the warm of a bronzer with a gentle flush of blush to give skin a luminous glow from within.

Shades:

  • Pink
  • Pastel Pink
  • Coral
  • Cranberry

As you can see both Cranberry and Coral look quite pigmented and lovely. I have the pink shade from a Surf & Sand Summer Collection which you can see below and it provides some luminosity to skin but not necessarily a ton of color so I’m looking forward to deeper shades from this collection to see if they have better color pay off!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I am so excited about this launch! Loved the shimmer bricks, so I’ll definitely love these. 🙂

Like you I have the pink highlighting powder from the surf and sand collection last year but wished I had got the bronze version too so I have ordered the coral one above (already out online and instores in UK) along with the illuminating balm. Can’t wait for it to arrive. On the UK BB website they are doing a limited offer of free I in face blender brush with the bricks. The BB make up artist online said coral quite dark for all over face use – esp as I am pale so for me will be better on the cheeks but I couldn’t resist it. Might get the pastel peach (not shown above but looks lovely too) later as that would be fine for over whole face.

I like but definitely a blush for me. Too much colour for all over face although I did a very gentle dab on my cheek and forehead and that was fine. Would look great on tanned or darker skin.

Quite different to my many other shimmer bricks, highlighters, bronzes and blushes so nice addition to my collection.

Not sure if I’ll resist getting Pastel Peach too!

I was a BB shimmerbrick junkie at one time, but managed to move on to other things. Are these bricks REALLY that much different from those ??????

  • Lee-Anne

Am not sure they are really that different! I think what I was meaning above was that it was different to the shades and colours of anything else I have. I got an e-mail from BB today about bronzers and on a scale of matt to shimmer they suggested that these slightly less shimmery than shimmer bricks. That was the cranberry compared to the Bronze shimmer brick. Of course it is all marketing and I am using in much the same way!!

They are also slightly smaller 0.23g compared to 0.4g in the shimmer brick and the packaging is much more compact too which is great for travelling and handbags!

Finally (because I am obsessed with US v UK prices at the moment) I noticed strangely that in US the brightening bricks are $34 compared to $44 for the shimmer bricks which seems fine given the smaller product but in the UK the prices are almost identical but 34 for the new brightening bricks and 32.50 for the shimmer bricks!!!
