Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme set

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme launched for Spring 2015 and is a new edition of Too Faced’s very popular Better Than False Lashes Nylon Lash Extension System.

I happen to be a massive fan of the original Better Than False Lashes formula so when they introduced an extreme version, well, needless to say, I wanted to try ASAP.

Here’s my thoughts!

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme is a two piece system with includes a Prime & Seal Mascara as well as Flexistretch Nylon Fibers. It’s formulated to super charge your lashes and give you the look of fuller, longer lashes that appear false-like. Honestly, the original version did a heck of a great job producing a false lash-like look and I loved it because lord knows I can’t apply falsies for my life! I love the idea of a mascara that gives me fuller and longer lashes without the complications of applying a set of false lashes.

I think the original formula was a showcase for the incredible fibers but this new version I think that the mascara is the real scene stealer! Even without the fibers the new mascara produces incredible length with a lightweight formula that doesn’t make lashes stiff or crunchy. Adding the fibers fills the spaces in between lashes and gives them a fuller look so using this dynamic duo together means you’re getting incredible length and volume. The fibers are identical to what you get in the original set but the mascara formula has changed and improved considerably! I’d honestly pay $32 for the mascara alone because it really produces incredible length!

I’m not much of a fan when it comes to fiber mascaras as I always feel like I have something in my eye when I wear them but I’ve never had an issue with Too Faced’s formula and that holds true for the new Better Than False Lashes Extreme. To use the set you’ll apply the mascara first, follow up with the fibers, and apply a second layer of mascara! That’s it! Instant longer, fuller lashes. The fibers have a cobweb look with a roller spoolie for application. Simply stroke the fibers through your lashes and you’ll find they cling to your outer lashes and fill in spaces between lashes. When you apply the mascara it clings to the fibers and creates a fuller appearance.

Below the first image shows my natural lashes with nothing on, the second images shows me wearing the Too Faced Prime & Seal Mascara only, and the last image shows me wearing the Flexistretch Nylon Fibers with the Prime & Seal Mascara under and over it.

The formula of the mascara sets quickly and doesn’t smear, flake, or smudge on my drier eyes. I find the the new mascara formula also gives me some nice curl which holds well throughout the wear!

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme is one of those raved products which actually lives up to its hype. I loved the original and I adore the new formulation. I guarantee if you adored the first variation of this you’ll love the Extreme edition even more. Can’t Muse Approved this one enough!

For fuller, longer lashes you absolutely need Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Extreme!

Im so excited for this!! I did get the original one due to your review and really like it alot. The tarte one made my eye so annoyed like something was poking on my eye. Is it me or does it look more volumizing than the original in the pics? Either way I have to get it. Thanks doll

    • Isabella Muse

oh me too Terry, the tarte one was just painful and I had high hopes for it. yeah, seems a bit more fuller than the original formula for sure! Let me know if you try, be interested to hear what you think!

  • Paige

Is this mascara as sticky as the original? I found my lashes always stuck together and i never felt like it “dried” on my lashes.

    • Becky

I feel like the original formula is sticky but only when I use it on top and bottom.. So I just use a regular mascara on the bottom. I also like to do a light later of a lengthening mascara first so I try to not get the too faced mascara right along my lash line (I only apply the fibers to the tips).

  • Kiss & Make-up

Hmm I’m starting to think you just have amazing lashes, haha, this one looks good as well!

  • Devon

this one is pretty amazing! i found that if you use a spoolie in between layers, it helps stretch out the fibers even more to add more length. my lashed touched my eyebrows!!! was super skeptical, but this is a must-have!!!

    • Lacy

Devon, what exactly do you mean use a spoolie in between layers? can you please ?! know the fibers come on a spoolie.. i’m curious and confused and want to dupe your technique so my eyelashes touch my eyebrows!!!! thanks in advance 🙂

      • Brendanese

I think Devon is talking about taking a spoolie/disposable mascara wand to brush out your lashes in between each layer i.e. mascara, spoolie, fibers, spoolie, mascara

  • Majick

Always taking notes…I have 2 mascaras going right now. I’m really liking the UD Perversion mascara. I didn’t think I would like it, thought it would be to clumpy but it’s seriously NICE. I also picked up the subversion primer and that makes for very dramatic lashes too.
    THanks for your review!

I have short, wimpy lashes, and don’t want to deal with false lashes, so will have to give this a try!

  • Lacy

Love the review, now I must try this! i don’t get why the fibers are white/clear!? why not just make them black for more drama? like the PF version. which by the way… i’m curious how it stacks up to this too faced extreme version? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks for a great review. I’ll be trying this regardless woot woot.

    • Isabella Muse

I think because fall out is easier to clean up with white fibers. 🙂 the fibers on PF’s version are more dramatic but the mascara on TF’s version is way better! I haven’t yet tried the PF fibers with the TF mascara because likely they’ll work together amazingssssssssssssssssly! my pleasure 🙂

  • Lacy

Ahh that makes more sense! You have to try the PF fibers with TF mascara and let me know!!! My only qualm is that I don’t really like TF better than sex mascara because it doesn’t do much for my lashes for whatever reason.

    • Isabella Muse

i don’t like better than sex either, gave it a majorly poor review when it launched 🙁 the mascara they package this with is INCREDIBLE! you don’t even need the fibers to get excellent length 🙂

  • Lacy

Alright then i’ll have to get around to trying this… Would it be totally weird to go to Sephora with no mascara on and try this to make sure I like the mascara!? lol

          • Paige

I’m not sure if this is in all stores but last time i got my eyes done she left me with eye shadow all over my eyelashes so i ask if they had any mascara samples i could use, some times you get lucky, but since they didn’t she took a couple fresh mascara wands and dipped it a mascara which i hope isn’t too bad and i didn’t have any reaction all though if you can i recommend trying for a sample.
