Make Up For Ever Tease Me Nude Lip Trio Review & Swatches

The Make Up For Ever Tease Me Nude Lip Trio is one of two, limited edition lip sets inspired by the movie Fifty Shades of Grey film. I love this set because I’m so into nude, natural lips looks lately and this has a nice range of shades and products to get a perfect nude lip!
Take a look!

The Make Up For Ever Tease Me Nude Lip Trio comes with three full size Make Up For Ever products and a how to get the look guide housed in a box that sports a promotional image of Ana and Christian from Fifty Shades of Grey. This set is available in a nude version, which I’m swatching and reviewing in this post, as well as a Berry version. The Nude version is supposed to portray Ana’s innocence where as the the Berry is a more passionate, daring color selection.
Briefly calculating the contents if purchased separately you’ll come up with a bill of $62 and the set is $32 so it’s a nice value if you purchase the set. The shades are all permanently available from Make Up For Ever and are not limited edition so even if you hate the idea of Fifty Shades of Grey, hate the book, yada, yada and end up loving the colors in this collection I would suggest a pick up of the set versus buying each item separately to save yourself some money. I got the set because the nude lip trio seemed like something I liked plus I’m a Jamie Dornan fan girl (Hello, the Fall? Epic!) and I enjoyed the Fifty Shade book series no matter how naff it was 🙂
The box contains:
- Aqua Lip Lip Pencil in Medium Natural Beige 3C
- Aqua Rouge Lipstick in 3 Medium Natural Beige, Clear
- Lab Shine Lipgloss in D16 Shimmering Beige

Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lipstick in Clear Gloss and 3 Medium Natural Beige, Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip Lip Pencil and Liner in Natural beige 3C, and Make Up For Ever Lab Shine Lipgloss in D16 Shimmering Beige
The set can be applied in a variety of ways the first of which is using the Aqua Rouge Lipstick all its own. This is a dual sided lip product that contains a liquid lipstick on one side with a shiny overcoat on the other. If you’ve read my review of Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge Lipstick you likely already know I really love these. I’m not typically a fan of long wearing liquid lipsticks but this formula is fab.
This is a long wearing liquid lipstick that does not budge so lip and eye makeup remover will be needed to remove it at the end of the day. This wears until you take it off. The creamy consistency glides easily onto lips with a opaque finish. The gloss does wear away within a few hours but color remains throughout the day for a solid eight hours. I like touching up with the gloss to keep it look polished but the color itself doesn’t feel or look dry without the gloss. My lips are fairly prone to dryness and I don’t feel like this clings to drier area or sucks moisture from my lips.
The formula has a velvety matte finish with a rich color pay off. They call it natural beige but for me it’s kinda a rosy, beige mauve shade. I really like the clear gloss as this gives the color a high lacquer shine and makes it look even more incredible once in place.
If you’re looking for a non-drying, long wearing lipstick this is the way to go for sure.

You can add the Lab Shine Gloss on top of this shade but personally I think the Lab Shine works best when used with the Aqua Lip Pencil. You can line and slightly fill the edges of lips with the Aqua Lip Liner and proceed to add some of the Lab Shine on top. This gives a sparkly, nude finish to lips. The combination of the two products look very good when used together. I honestly, had a moment that I thought I wouldn’t use the lip liner as I don’t use lip liner often and typically if I do it’s a clear one. But lining and ever so slightly filling the inner edges with the shade and following up with the gloss creates a really pretty finish on lips. The liner is soft, creamy and easy to apply and the gloss is sheerer but give lips a nice hint of sparkly beige which is a perfect compliment to the liner color.

All in all the Make Up For Ever Tease Me Nude Lip Trio is not only an excellent value but an easy way to get a killer nude lip look without a ton of no how or work! I’d recommend picking this up if you love nude lip looks or just want to try one out for size! Believe me this one won’t give you zombie lips as the colors are very, very flattering and should suit many skin tones.
