Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Review & Swatches

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner ($5.99) is a new eyeliner that’s launching with the Milani Spring 2015 Collection. This little kajal is available in a single shade and mimics the velvety smooth finish of Urban Decay Black Velvet with a matte smoky finish but it’s totally on a budget!

Take a look!

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner 5

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner’s finish isn’t one I completely embrace. My go to eyeliner of choice is Urban Decay Perversion because I love how intensely pigmented it is and I really love the glossy look of it! But it’s truly easy to fall in love with Milani’s formula.

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Swatches

Milani has quite a few gorgeous creamy eyeliners but I think the Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner is unique to anything they have released in the past. This is an ultra matte eyeliner with a soft, creamy texture that applies easily and smudges out beautifully. They market it for tightlining and waterlining and personally that’s where it excels in my experience with it. Since it’s super matte in finish it ends up wearing quite long on both the upper and lower waterline areas of your eye. I can get a nice six hour wear on my waterline with very minor fading issues.

The waterproof formula removes easily and has no issues with smudging or flaking. If you have oily eyelids this is a great formula that doesn’t forsake creaminess in a matte finish. Too many times matte finish eyeliners drag during application and have a dry, stuff point. This is has a nice creamy skip free application that glides easily onto eyes and wears super strongly around “moist” places (that so sounds perverted). It’s super pigmented and I’d say even more pigmented than Urban Decay Black Velvet!

Milani Eyeliner

Four hours in and still looking good!

It is retractable which I have to admit I hate. I’ve started disliking retractable pencils lately because you can’t sharpen them easily! Some come with a very tiny sharpener which is very handy but in most cases I can never get the same exact precise point the liner originally came with. Unfortunately, Milani doesn’t include a sharpener so you’ll have to use one from another retractable pencil (hopefully you have one!).

All in all Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner is a great eyeliner especially if you’re a fan of matte finish liners. This one both dry and oily lids will enjoy using thanks to a creamy formula that applies and smudges easily and wears long and strong on the waterline.

Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner is launching at drugstores now and is available for purchase at milanicosmetics.com.

I purchased this item.

Great review. I was curious about this one. I, too, love the UD eyeliners because they are the only liners that stay on my waterline. (love Perversion too). Nice to know there is a cheap alternative to the UD. Thanks for the info.

I just love the packaging of this. It’s so pretty for a drugstore pencil. I’m also glad it’s matte. I’ll be grabbing 2 of them when I find them. Maybe 3 so my mom can have one too

Dang, that pic was after 4 hours?! Looks like I’ll be grabbing this next time I hit Walgreens.

I already have Perversion AND Black Velvet and I think you’d sold me on picking up this one too! Why not for $6!! It’s got some amazing staying power it looks like and my perpertually watery eyes need something that stays put. Even Urban Decay liners tend to fade out on me by the end of the work day…

OMG, I’m going to check this one out. For $6, it’s worth a try. I have oily lids and a Teflon waterline, and this might be the one

this looks really promising for the waterline! thanks for the review! this item is on my wishlist now! 😀 on a side note, are kajal eyeliners usually more long wearing on the waterline as compared to say.. asian eyeliners pencils you’ve tried? (e.g. etude house play 101, or kate gel liner pencil)

    thanks in advance!

my pleasure karman! 🙂 depends on the formula of the kajal, some kajal’s run creamier and have more of a glossiness to them and they end up smearing away easily when used on the waterline. It really depends on the finish and the formula.

I can’t wait to pick this up! You have me sold 🙂 Thanks for the review, Muse!!!

Moist…heh, heh, heh. God I hate that word. Anyway, great review! Can’t wait to find this. Nothing stays on my waterline. Nothing. Maybe this will be the one. Even if not, still looks like this will wear very well on my oily eyelids and you can’t beat the price.

This is one of my FAVORITE eyeliners! I have extremely sensitive eyes that water and smear my eye makeup terribly sometimes. I love to use black in my tightline/waterline and the only eyeliners I’ve found that don’t irritate my eyes are Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal, Nars, and Marc Jacobs. I love the price of Milani too!! Only drawback is that I wish they had more shades available in this formula specifically (have not tried any others from this line). Phenomenal product!
