The Innovative Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion

nivea in shower body lotion

I’ve been using the innovative Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion ($7.99) for the last week and a half and it is life changing. I should start off by saying I’m so terrible about applying body lotion after I shower. I’m one of those dry and dash girls so I’m always half way damp when I’m sliding into my clothes. I dislike the feeling of applying body lotion on wet skin so typically I reserve applying it until the evening. I also don’t like how some body creams make me feel sticky or tacky.

Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion saves me a step by giving me a way to apply my body lotion IN THE SHOWER!

Cool right?

Available in three formulations Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion basically transforms the way you apply your body cream! Step into the shower, do a little dance, sing a little song, wash up with your favorite shower gel, wash your hair, etc…as the last step of your shower you can apply Nivea In-Shower Body Lotion to your legs, arms, body, etc…massage it into your skin and rinse.

Done!

Step out of the shower, dry off, and you’re left with super smooth skin.

This formula instantly moisturizers your skin and rinses away leaving skin smooth by not sticky!

It comes in three formulas:

  • Nivea Hydrating In-Shower Body Lotion with Sea Minerals to moisturize normal to dry skin
  • Nivea Smoothing In-Shower Body Lotion with Shea Butter to help smooth dry skin
  • Nivea Nourishing In-Shower Body Lotion with Almond Oil to nourish very dry skin

Pretty nifty right? But just be careful as this does make the floor of your shower very slick!

I’m all about multitasking and Nivea’s new Nourishing In-Shower Body Lotion is the perfect way to hydrate my skin quickly!

Nivea Nourishing In-Shower Body Lotion is available now at drugstores or get it online at drugstore.com.

I’ve been using the dark blue one for weeks now and it is amazing. It’s been very cold and dry here and it has a life saver. Also since you’re in the shower you don’t have to be neat about it. Just rub rinse and done!

I’ve been wondering about these!! Which version do you use? I am so going to try one of these now!! Do they leave the shower floor slippery at all? That’s been my biggest holdback on getting one to try….

    • Isabella Muse

they do, mentioned that in the post 🙂 be careful and rinse out the shower stall after as they can be slick. I’ve been using the very dry skin version and loving it!

  • Kimmwc03

Is it anything like the Lush body conditioners? I love those but they are so pricey.

I have the best intentions of applying lotion once I get out of the shower, but it never seems to happen. Combing my wet hair and applying all my face creams takes long enough, and inevitably, my baby will start crying or the phone will ring, and I’ll get interrupted and never have a chance to apply lotion. The concept of applying lotion in the shower sounds amazing and I must get my grubby hands on some of this, ASAP!

  • Indya

Hmmm. I swear by Nivea’s smooth sensation lotion and I am really good about lotioning up after bathing… Would you recommend this for someone that always lotions daily or is it overkill?

    • Isabella Muse

if you have dry skin sure! You can never have enough moisture as far as I’m concerned if you have drier skin 🙂

  • Ashley

These sound promising. I bet they will win Allure’s best of beauty awards next fall. I have the one from Olay in the shower now, like how Nivea’s caters to your skin type.

  • Chynna

I’m SO glad someone has brought this idea back! I had some old ones from Olay or someone and I really loved them, but they were discontinued. Ro’s Argan Oil from Lush was similar, but expensive! The only thing to watch out for is that they can make the shower floor slippery if you don’t have a good mat or some anti-slip decals. (Sheldon’s whimsical duck stickers!)

  • RKB

So silly question: did you find it in the lotions or the body wash section of the drugstore?

  • Lauren

This sounds amazing! As I’ve been getting older, I’ve started to struggle with dry skin. I never really had to moisturize and this year, it really has become clear that I need to change my ways, given the dry patches I’ve finally managed to banish from my face and my itchy, dry legs (that even daily application of Body Butter can’t seem to heal). These look worth checking out! Which version do you use?

  • Agata

I am terrible at applying lotion too! And I have had a similar product that I picked up in Poland with Aragan Oil. I don’t know if I liked the scent or the idea of the product better but I agree-it’s life changing. I didn’t even know Nivea released these so thank you for letting us know!

    • Isabella Muse

oh my pleasure agata! ps how crazy is it I didn’t realize you were in Poland?!

  • Tracy

I use the Olay one and it’s amazing. Once my last bottle runs out maybe I’ll try this one. Does anyone know if they are similar? The Olay version smells like the La Source line from Crabtree which I happen to love.

  • Jo Hee

Do you need to rinse it off? I am currently using the Lush Ro’s body conditioner, and do not rinse it off after I apply it. Would I be able to use the Nivea in the same way?

    • Isabella Muse

it would kind of defeat the purpose if you didn’t rinse it off…I’d recommend using a regular body lotion after your shower versus using this if you want to leave it on.

  • Ashley

I like the extra moisturizing benefits, but I don’t like the smell of the dark blue which smells like regular Nivea lotion with something bad mixed in. Does anyone know if the other two have a similar scent?

  • tiffany

totally reminds me of the lush in shower body conditioners. you should compare them

  • Christine

So glad this is back! I too was hoarding old ones from years ago! My CVS didn’t have it in stock, but I got a rain check for the $6 sale this week.

  • kara

I swear Olay used to make something like this too! Ever since hearing loads about the Lush body conditioners I’ve been wanting to pick up a drugstore version. This is on my list now 🙂

    • NancyAlexis

Olay did make make an in-shower lotion, the only thing I remember is the shower floor being slick and someone already made that comment about these as well. Otherwise, I love Nivea. I think they make the very best lotions. The lotion in the dark blue bottle leaves my skin looking beautiful in a way no other lotion does.

  • Melissa

Cool I will have to try this! I have dry skin & don’t always put lotion on. Thanks for all the info you put on here for us.

  • Kim

I saw those in Singapore couples of mouths ago (they even had a whitening version, not so surprising though) and I wanted to try them, but I wasn’t sure of the quality and how they compare to the Lush’s ones. I am glad you like them. I will totally try them when I will go back in Singapore in 2 months. 🙂

  • Angel

What is this witchcraft?? I’ve never heard of such a thing. I’m very intrigued. So quick question. It doesn’t come off when you dry off with a towel? Do you have to delicately dab dry or is this a non-issue? Wow, this is very cool. And time saving to boot.

    • Isabella Muse

you actually rinse it off in the shower so it doesn’t technically stay on your skin but it provides the moisture of a lotion that you did apply if that makes sense 😀

  • Jim Patrick

I just received a sample of Nivea body lotion for very dry skin, I was wondering if you can use on face?

  • melisa

Oil of olay has had an in the shower lotion on the market for years. I prefer it to nivea’s brand, mainly because the scent is much more appealing. I also feel like the oil of olay softens my skin quicker, and longer.
