Wet n Wild Prep & Prime set

Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is a new Spring 2015 release that comes packaged in the Wet n Wild Prep & Prime Set ($4.99). No worries it’s actually sold as an individual product but it looks like Wet n Wild packaged it up with a Cover All Correcting Palette for a limited time to get people excited about it.

The set itself is a nice deal since the Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is marked as $4.99 all its own. Ouch! Someone’s gotta pay Fergie’s bills huh? $5 is a little high for Wet n Wild but honestly, you can always score a deal at the drugstore so I imagine you’ll never pay that amount anyway. Plus, even if you did, this is a great primer and worth your fiver.

Take a look!

Wet n Wild Coverall Primer

Sherlock just because ya know?

Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is an extension to some of Wet n Wild’s past Coverall products such as their Coverall Coverstick, Coverall Pressed Powder, and Wet n Wild Cover All Cream Foundation which launched in 2013. It is a permanent product from my understanding but as of now, I’ve only seen it in the Wet n Wild Prep & Prime Set in stores! No luck finding it sold alone in my location. Needless to say you might as well get the set because it’s like buying one item and getting one free anyway right?

According to Wet n Wild the Cover All Primer minimizes pores, files fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone, prevents foundation from caking, and brightens the complexion. They say they put diamonds in the formula and the key ingredient is white sapphire formulated to give skin a “crystal complexion”.

The actually primer is formulated beautifully and just the way I like my primers as it’s a creamy gel that absorbs easily into skin leaving it lightly hydrated and prepped for makeup. It absorbs easily into my drier skin and does a very good job of blurring the appearance of the visible pores on my nose. It makes my skin look very smooth and flawless. I wouldn’t say it evened out my complexion and I don’t have visible pores on my face or finer lines and wrinkles but it still managed to make my skin look very smooth. It should do well with smaller facial pores in my opinion and likely will soften the look of very fine lines. It didn’t quite absorb excess oil but it did provide nice light moisture that wasn’t greasy, shiny, or dewy in finish! The texture to me feels like a cross between a silicone and water based primer as I apply it. It has a very light fresh fragrance.

I wouldn’t say it prolonged the wear of my makeup but it did give my makeup a smoother appearance and also prepped my skin well for foundation allowing it to apply easier and giving it a very a smooth base to adhere to.

All in all Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is an very nice pick up. It’s a bit expensive for Wet n Wild which kinda sorta does surprise me on some level but I honestly don’t mind at all since there’s plenty of quality here to back up the price! It actually performs as well as any mid-range primer would!

Good job Wet n Wild! Coverall Primer is a keeper!

I’m intrigued that it’s more a gel-like texture. I am not a fan of the ones that are creamy-powdery. Did you try the four-color corrector? I’m sort of curious about that one.

  • Carol

First of all, where did you get that bust? It is amazing! Second, I just might try this. Always looking for a nice, inexpensive primer.

  • Vanessa

I just bought this set a few minutes ago! I am excites to try it and seeing your review on the primer makes me happy that it was worth it!

      • Vanessa

I have used the primer and I love it. It goes on smoothly and it really awakens my complexion. It gives me a radiant look. It primes my skin well for foundation or powder.I am happy with this purchase!

BENEDICT!!! 😀 Awesome bust of him!! I have seen the WnW set in a couple of places so far, and wondered about it… Now I will have to get it – I like this type of primer too, esp. this time of year. Gotta run to Walgreens over lunch anyway, so I’ll see if they have it there! Could frankly care less about the correcting palette, but $5 for a nice primer appeals to my El Cheapo side! 😀

    • Isabella Muse

hehe 🙂 hey, get it, gift the color wheel to someone else 🙂 it’s free after all right? LMK what you think when you try the primer I’d be curious to hear your thoughts!

      • kimkats

Absolutely! Someone should get the goody from the color wheel! I’ll absolutely let you know what I think of the primer!! 🙂

  • fancie

The texture looks nice and the formula sounds pretty decent too. Hopefully I can find this alone soon

WHERE CAN I PURCHASE THIS SET?
I HAVE BEEN CALLING CVS AND WALGREENS BUT NOTHING.

    THANKS,
    PAULA

    • Isabella Muse

hi paula if you read the post you’ll find a link to where it can be purchased, hope this helps.

  • Rachel R.

Sounds good. I prefer lighter textures.

That Sherlock bust is all kinds of awesome.

  • Rachel

Girl, I came here to read about primer, but all I did was get jealous and lust after your Sherlock bust! 😀 I really, REALLY wanted to get that set, but I already had all 3 series on Blu-Ray, so I just couldn’t justify spending the $$$ to get the busts and extra disc. Sherlock is my obsession, but I still couldn’t do it! You need to include him and John regularly in your reviews, k?? Then I can pretend they’re mine!! 😉

    • Isabella Muse

hahah rachel 🙂 <3 of course def will include John next time around 😀 I had the dvds too but I simply had to repurchase for the busts! could NOT resist 😀

  • tyra

Does anybody try this primer on oily skin ? I Kinda excited about it tho
Heee . If u already test it on oily skin
Then let me know . Thanks .

  • Heidi

I finally did try this and the four-color correcting palette. I have to say I have avoided primers for a couple years because formulas were too heavy and they ended up collecting dust in a drawer, but this is nice and light. The palette is okay. Blends fairly well, etc., but I do really like this primer. $5 definitely is a bit steep, but it’s better for me than ones I’ve paid $10 or $20 for, most definitely!

i have tried this product and im ehh on it.

i patted /dabbed the green on my blemishes/pimples and with only one layer of concealer on, the green was noticeable… i had to add another swipe of my fit me concealer to hide the green. my face makeup obviously looked thick.

i dabbed the yellow around my eyes because i have dark circles, this was okay except that i have little wrinkles under my eyes and it left a crease under my eye.

i have oily skin so the primer left a matte finish on my face which was great

  • Angie K.

Really enjoying this primer! Got it on clearance at Walgreens for $2.49! The other drugstore primer I’ve used is maybelline baby skin and I like the coverall much better. It makes my skin so soft and evens out my pores. Thanks for the review I probably wouldn’t have purchased without checking here first. I trust your opinion!

oooh just bought this and a few wet n wild megalast lipsticks and 1 Beauty UK Lip Matter Velvet matte lip cream YAAAAAYYYY shall share impressions soon
    Happy Holidays too Bella Muse

    xoxo

    Hi Bella Muse xx

Tried this primer on today twice. First with the Wet n wild coverall foundy. It did make my make up last for a good 6 hours. I have combination skin, dry patches and oiliness here and there. But what I am truly amazed of is how it evens out my skin like it boosts the flawless finish of the actual foundation. (ohmy what am I sayin’.. hope u understand hahah) Now Im using this primer with Clinique’s Even Better shade 63 Fresh Beige. It’s soooo pretty. And it didnt cause flakes. Some primers cause flakes like when u apply them. But this is sooo “Munchoy” hahah thats Good in our ethnic language.

Have u tried any wet n wild megalast lippies? Theyre more matte, super pigmented, last longer than Nyx matte lippies.

Love make up this hols yaaay
