Wet n Wild Coverall Primer Review & Swatches
Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is a new Spring 2015 release that comes packaged in the Wet n Wild Prep & Prime Set ($4.99). No worries it’s actually sold as an individual product but it looks like Wet n Wild packaged it up with a Cover All Correcting Palette for a limited time to get people excited about it.
The set itself is a nice deal since the Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is marked as $4.99 all its own. Ouch! Someone’s gotta pay Fergie’s bills huh? $5 is a little high for Wet n Wild but honestly, you can always score a deal at the drugstore so I imagine you’ll never pay that amount anyway. Plus, even if you did, this is a great primer and worth your fiver.

Sherlock just because ya know?
Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is an extension to some of Wet n Wild’s past Coverall products such as their Coverall Coverstick, Coverall Pressed Powder, and Wet n Wild Cover All Cream Foundation which launched in 2013. It is a permanent product from my understanding but as of now, I’ve only seen it in the Wet n Wild Prep & Prime Set in stores! No luck finding it sold alone in my location. Needless to say you might as well get the set because it’s like buying one item and getting one free anyway right?
According to Wet n Wild the Cover All Primer minimizes pores, files fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone, prevents foundation from caking, and brightens the complexion. They say they put diamonds in the formula and the key ingredient is white sapphire formulated to give skin a “crystal complexion”.
The actually primer is formulated beautifully and just the way I like my primers as it’s a creamy gel that absorbs easily into skin leaving it lightly hydrated and prepped for makeup. It absorbs easily into my drier skin and does a very good job of blurring the appearance of the visible pores on my nose. It makes my skin look very smooth and flawless. I wouldn’t say it evened out my complexion and I don’t have visible pores on my face or finer lines and wrinkles but it still managed to make my skin look very smooth. It should do well with smaller facial pores in my opinion and likely will soften the look of very fine lines. It didn’t quite absorb excess oil but it did provide nice light moisture that wasn’t greasy, shiny, or dewy in finish! The texture to me feels like a cross between a silicone and water based primer as I apply it. It has a very light fresh fragrance.

I wouldn’t say it prolonged the wear of my makeup but it did give my makeup a smoother appearance and also prepped my skin well for foundation allowing it to apply easier and giving it a very a smooth base to adhere to.
All in all Wet n Wild Coverall Primer is an very nice pick up. It’s a bit expensive for Wet n Wild which kinda sorta does surprise me on some level but I honestly don’t mind at all since there’s plenty of quality here to back up the price! It actually performs as well as any mid-range primer would!
Good job Wet n Wild! Coverall Primer is a keeper!
