Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel Lipstick

Hot right now? This review and swatches of the new Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel Lipstick! Released in 7 shades with the Marc Jacobs Spring 2015 Collection, the new New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel is a curacted collection of perfect shades of nude, neutral lips!

I love this collection with all my heart. It makes selecting the perfect shade of nude lipstick very easy without overwhelming with too many shades or shades that are chalky, white based, or just not working for my skin tone.

If you’re seeking that perfect nude might I suggest checking out these Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel Lipsticks!

The Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel is a selection of shades that are newly packaged (in a biege barrel lipstick casing) but the shades aren’t new so if you are a collector of the wonderful Lovemarc Lip Gel Lipstick formula check your stash prior to a purchase. This collection brings together and showcases shades already available which is fine by me as I don’t technically own any of the seven colors in the New Nudes Lip Gel Collection so it brought my attention to colors I have yet to try.

As a love of the Lip Gel Lipstick formula I was ecstatic to get my greedy hands on some flattering nude shades for Spring. Chiseled, contoured cheeks are totally a thing for Spring and of course, with the perfectly sculpted cheek look you’ll want that perfect nude lip color and Marc Jacobs has one for you!

I tried out shades 150 Eat Cake and 114 Understudy both of which worked perfectly on my skin tone. Understudy is a love terracotta pink where as Eat Cake is a pretty rose nude.

The formula is gorgeous with an easy, creamy glide! Even on my drier lips there wasn’t a tug to be had during application. The texture is rich, creamy, yet comfortably lightweight on lips with plenty of moisture. The finish has a highly luminous shine and provides complete opaque color sans shimmer or sparkle. I can get a nice five to six hours wear without migration or feathering.

If you’re in the mark for a higher end lipstick that doesn’t disappoint in a selection of wearable nudes that don’t leave you looking like a zombie I’d highly recommend the Marc Jacobs Beauty New Nudes Sheer Lip Gel Lipsticks. These do not disappoint!

I may just find the other shades falling into my cart shortly as I can’t pass them up!

Both shades look so nice on you! They go well with the bolder eye makeup

What does “gel lipstick” mean? Is that different than a regular lipstick or is it just a catchphrase?

GAH! lipstick junkie here. trying to contain myself 😀

I really struggle finding lip colors, as the ones I am drawn to in the tube aren’t the ones that flatter me. These look great on you! My coloring is really similar to yours, light/med skin, dark brown eyes, so I usually find that if it looks good on your pics, it will work for me as well. I don’t usually splurge on high end lippies, but might need to make an exception.

kim, I hope you try these, I think they look great with medium light complexions, very flattering shades 😀

I tried out the Lip Gel formula long ago (not long after the mj beauty line first launched) and I remember being shocked and appalled at the wear time. They seriously lasted on me like 20 min. Do you notice the same issues with this version, or have they improved the formula?

    • Isabella Muse

I actually discussed the wear in this review Lisa. I never had an issue with them wearing 20 minutes on me, that’s weird, they are really long lasting my dry lips. sorry to hear it.

  • Ruth

I checked out all the new lip stuff today at Sephora from Marc Jacobs and loved everything !

    Hello!

Would you mind recommending which of the nudes you’d suggest for medium-brown Indian skin tone? I suppose whatever you’d suggest for someone who is in the range between Eva Longoria and Freida Pinto. Thank you so much!

    Best,
