Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick Review & Swatches

Maybelline Matte Blush Stick

Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick by Face Studio in Rosy Rush is one of a few new limited edition matte blush sticks that Maybelline is launching with their new Rebel Bloom Spring 2015 Collection. I’ve actually only come across one Maybelline Matte Blush Stick so far but their are reports of at least two to three other shades.

These are a new formulated version of the Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks with a new matte finish sans glitter, shimmer, or sparkle.

Let’s take a look!

The Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick is a chubby swivel up 0.24 oz blush stick that’s marked as being “limited edition” on the label. I suspect the color is limited edition but for Summer 2015 my bets are that Maybelline launches a range of permanent Master Matte Blush Stick shades. Don’t quote me there but that’s my prediction!

I actually didn’t love the original Master Glaze formula because it was a bit too shimmery for me (I know right? I’m the self proclaimed shimmer queen!) and the wear was rather short. If you experienced the same issues as I did you’ll be happy to know that the Master Matte Blush Sticks are considerably better formulated.

This blush stick has a creamy, easy to blend texture with incredible pigmentation. I don’t have issues blending into my drier skin and the formula doesn’t adhere to drier ares either plus the color has super natural, seamless finish.

Rosy Rush is very, very pigmented so I did tone it down during application as it’s easy to get clown cheeks from this shade. This is kinda a rosy raspberry shade that reflects a bit of peach on my skin tone. I find it wears very strong and very long at around six hours which isn’t very typical for me as cream blushes tend to fade quickly on my skin!

All in all the new Maybelline Master Matte Blush Stick has a lot going for it. Easy to blend, super pigment, and a really long wear makes for a vast improvement on the original Master Glaze Blush Stick formula in my opinion!

Let’s hope Maybelline creates some permanent shades in this new formula for us!

I was at Walgreens today and there was a whole display of new limited edition maybelline spring 2015 collection. On the display it said exclusively to Walgreens. Might want to check out Walgreens, they had new shades of lip sticks from the rebel collection, tattoo eye shadows, and much more.

Muse, how do you apply these creme blushes? I wear a BB cream and everytime I try to use even my finger to apply the product, the BB cream gets pushed around my face. Any advice? Also, I apply my BB cream with my fingers then use a dry beauty blender to get the flawless finish without it soaking up all my product.

I use the mac 187 to apply, any good fibre brush is great for cream blush application, gives them a soft focused photoshopped finish.

Do you wipe the product on the brush, or put some on your cheeks, and blend out? Sorry, I was very curious about this as well.

I apply cream blush products with an elf (eyes, lips, face) small stipple brush. I swipe the small stipple brush over the cream stick then swirl the crush on the back of my hand then apply to cheeks.

I’m Excited to try these! I love the original ones and I think these matte ones will be just as nice. I hope you’re right and they bring these out permanently in the future. I think they’ll be extremely popular.
