I find these contour palettes so tempting because I love new makeup, palettes, and things in cute packaging… but deep down I know that they are total gimmicks. Why on earth do I need 4 colors to contour? I think I’m fine with my HG Chocolate Soleil Matte bronzer to contour with one of my highlighters, as I’ve been doing for YEARS. Chances are, I’d only be able to use the highlight plus one of the shades in the contour palette. And the medium shade is probably the same (or very similar) as the Chocolate Soleil bronzer anyway. As for the highlight, I have several gorgeous highlight shades.

I picked this up a week or two ago, and I like it pretty well! The powders are good quality (far better than those in the only other contouring palette I have, from It Cosmetics), and I actually don’t think either bronzer in here is an exact dupe for either the Chocolate Soleil or the Milk Chocolate Soleil (both of which I also own). I even like the little brush in this palette! My one complaint is that the shimmery highlight powder is a little TOO shimmery and I have to use a light hand with it.

I purchased this because of the cute packaging. I have several other too faced palettes and I am sure I can find something very similar in any of them, but it is sooo cute. I kind of regret buying it, as its just not anything unique or different. Just the same old chocolate smelling bronzers. UGH !!!!! I need more self control that is for sure. I wish my Sephora sold Marc Jacobs or Laura Mercier, Cover FX etc. in the store. I would have liked to have one of those instead. But its so hard to resist what you can put in your hands.

As an avid Too Faced fan, I actually wasn’t a big fan of this palette. I have the Kat Von D one too and I love it, but this one seemed to fade really fast. The darkest shade is kinda orange tinted and the highlight is just chunks of gold glitter. I wanted to like it, because I love Too Faced and the packaging is so cute…but it just didn’t perform well for me.

you said the word orange! that means I have to run away lol! can’t do orange bronzers!

The trouble with these kinds of palettes is that at least one shade does not work for your skin tone and it is a waste of money. Plus the chocolate scent would definitely put me off. Orange shades? Nope not for me.
