Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powder Palette

But first, LET ME TAKE A SELFIE! Well not yet, let me use a little Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powders to polish my skin to perfection.

Ahh selfies! I was on Madison Ave recently and there were a few younger girls taking photos of themselves and their dad was with them. They handed off their phone to him to take a photo of them and he told them, “I can’t use it, it’s in selfie mode”. So we reached a point in our lives where selfie is a camera mode I guess so is it any great surprise that selfie powders are now a standard part of our makeup regime?

The Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powders are a weightless finishing powder selection that act like your favorite photo filter to add brightness, bronze, and a cool lightness to skin.

Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powders

Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powders ($36) mimic the photo filters of your camera. This palette is made up of Sunrise which is a brightening powder to add warmth, Totally Toasted which is a bronze that adds a sunny glow, and Moon River which is a lilac that brightens and adds a cool ethereal light to skin.

Think of the Too Faced Selfie Powders Light Filtering Photo-Enhancing Powders as the next great thing in contouring. These perfect, sculpt, and create a more flawless finish on skin so your selfies will always look perfect.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Ugh this is snakeoil…snake oil that I am tempted to try. Why is that??? Well I could buy a MAC finishing powder for about the same price…or get 3 to try here. I have oily skin though, so not sure if a “finishing” powder is what I need.

    • Isabella Muse

Tell me about it. I keep telling myself, “well, I already have plenty of facial powders do I need three more?” I proceed to also tell myself, “But..you know, for selfies…!” That’s my stupid logic, for selfies, like I even TAKE that many selfies. I hate selfies haha!

This has me totally wanting it but I already own some hourglass powders- I don’t know that I would even really use these. But I want it.

Im not loving the packaging though, it’s too cheesy for my taste. Which makes me feel old (I’m 34). I guess it’s more geared to the younger selfie obsessed crew?

    • Isabella Muse

ditto, I have a few hourglass as well which I love and use quite often. i think it is geared towards a younger crowd, perhaps late teens (18-19) and might even garner interested from an early twenty demographic!

I splurged on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette after a Sephora makeup session and I’m definitely digging it. I’m not sure about the yellow and purple powders in this set, but it was nice to have a palette with some variety. I even attempted to contour with a bit using the light and dark shade (I’m super pale) and I don’t look like a shiny clown, so that’s a plus! I can’t get into the whole selfie thing…

  • Sarah

I’m definitely going to have to see some indepth reviews of this before I splurge. I was rather disappointed with the Ambient Lighting Palette, but this intrigues me enough to give this genre of powders a chance again!

I don’t even take selfies, but I’m so interested in this. I can’t wait to see this in action. Maybe some before and afters will convince me to take the plunge. Although that little chihuahua on the inside of the kit is looking rather yellow, a bit jaundiced lol. You should check him out, there are more pics of this online.

BTW, what color is the dress? I’ve been obsessed with that damn internet dress since yesterday and can’t stop laughing at all the online comments. I saw white and gold, read the article, scrolled back up and it was black and blue!! Witchcraft! Shenanigans! It keeps switching before my very eyes. I know its black and blue but it keeps switching LOL!!!! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

LOL a little jaundiced!? haha 🙂 OMG I DUNNOOOOOOOOO I see white and gold but I see articles where ti looks black and blue! It’s ABSURD! the great debate of 2015! I’m so confused and scared hold me please!

  • Laura

I’m thinking that the golden shade and the brown shade would be really great for highlighting. Not sure what to do with the purple one though. Maybe use it as an eyeshadow?

  • Jay

Meh not for my deeper skin tone but interesting concept. It seeks gimmicky and I’m only 26! Ah, to be old lol. It is just me or are people heavily into makeup younger and younger?!

  • Maria

These look really nice. Would like to see swatches and reviews on it. Thanks for info.

  • Nike

I just splurged on this… I looked at the swatches first and I think all the colors look beautiful and luminescent! I thought the bronze color would look a little dark but it seems like a very light warm glow. The lavender is very bright, and the gold tone one is nice and subtle 🙂 I cannot wait to try it out! I looove new makeup!

  • Cindy

The powders themselves look really lovely, but the packaging and ‘filter’ concept are just too gimmicky for me.
