Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color

Sephora recently listed the new Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color on site as an early Smashbox Summer 2015 launch and I’ll have you know my predictions about chubby blush sticks for a Summer Trend is coming to past.

I accept pats on the back and praise, k, thanks.

No, seriously though Sephora listed a single shade which was exciting but more recently it looks like they’ll be a total of five shades in this launch which likely means it’ll be heavily promoted for Summer but later on will be added to the core color collection.

Have a look!

Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color is a double ended chubby cheek stick with a domed shape much like Clinique’s Chubby Stick Moisturizing Cheek Colour Balm. Of course, Smashbox goes one step further and includes a handy flat sponge located on the opposite of the stick which can be used to blend and diffuse color. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally a swipe and blend out girl and fingers work best but the sponge sure will come in handy.

What worries me about this formula is they do call it an illuminating veil which contradicts the “Cheek Color” in the name. Because for me “veil” translates as sheer and add in “illuminating” and suddenly it’s more a highlighter than a blush.

Secondly, my fabulously germ-a-phobe self cringes at using it on both my cheeks and lips! Not sure how I feel about that but hey, Stila has gotten away with it as have many other brands. We can cope right?

Shades:

  • Beverly Hills Blush
  • Hollywood & Highlight
  • Malibu Berry
  • Silver Lake Sunset
  • Venice Beach Bronze

The new Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color is available now at Nordstrom.com and Sephora.com.

These remind me of my beloved Benefit Watt’s Up. That sponge is seriously amazing for getting the perfect blended-out look, so it definitely makes me more interested in these! Gimme ALL the chubby sticks. 😀

Is there a tutorial on how to apply? Just had the glass a Smashbox give me a make over they showed me how to use contour palette and these sticks were in Something I purchased. Not sure how to add in correctly.
