Hard Candy Fierce Effects Daring Lipgloss ($5) is a new argan oil infused lipgloss that Hard Candy introduced with their Spring/Summer 2015 offerings in 12 shade selections. Yeah, I know, more argan oil infused makeup products but let me tell you I love this formula! It has quirks and it’s far from perfect but I really love how it feels on my dry, tired lips.

Hard Candy Fierce Effects Daring Lipgloss are available in two different finishes of intense and sheer according to displays. They come housed in a skinny tube that pays home to 0.17 oz of lipgloss. Each has an attached lip brush for application. I know some folks prefer sponges and I’m right there with you but I do occasionally like a lip brush. This applicator is ideal for this formula as it applies it well and no worries as the brush didn’t split or shed.

If you have drier lips you’ll appreciate this formula. It’s quite thin with a slick hydrating feel when applied and a nice glossy finish. Color applies evenly on lips and feels very moist and comfortable. At the moment I’m prone to super dry lips so this is a very soothing formula for me that feels very moisturizing throughout the wear. It does have a sweet citrus flavor that quite reminds me of the fragrance and flavor that Josie Maran uses in many of her Argan style glosses and lip products.

For me the formula is lightweight, comfortable, and very soothing however, it likes to migrate and it does wear a very short time. This is one of those glosses that could be dubbed a creeper as it does like to slide around a good deal. It also tends to wear a really short time of around two hours, sometimes three if I am extra lucky! The good news is through that two or three hour period the color remains very vibrant, the shine lasts, and the moisture levels are excellent. I wish I could get more time from the wear but they do seem to slip away into oblivion rather quickly!

The pigmentation does vary from shade to shade. Two out of the four colors I choose were fairly opaque where as the others ran a little sheerer. But none the less you do have variety here so if you prefer pigment, there are shades that will provide. If you want something more sheer and natural, there are also shades that will give you that look too!

Hard Candy Fierce Effects Daring Lipgloss is a nice little budget pick. It provides very nice color (no matter if you choose an intense or sheer shade), a nice lightweight moisture, and an excellent consistency that makes lips look glossy. The wear time is kinda iffy for me but can’t say it’s a huge issue that I can’t deal with as I find my lips like this formula very much! If you have drier lips they may just be worth a try out!
