Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick

Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick ($5) is yet another incredible product that Hard Candy recently launched with their Spring/Summer 2015 Makeup Collection. Honestly, scoring $5 buck lipstick with a great formula is a rarity in my humblest opinion so count me shocked and delighted by the texture, wear, and pigment that Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick brings to the table.

Yes, you need it!

Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick comes packaging in a mirrored barrel featuring a see through window displaying the color located on the top of the tube. Each lipstick weights in at 0.11 oz in size. The packaging has a nice weight behind it giving the look and feel of a mid-range lipstick! It also isn’t as bad a magnetic for fingerprints as I thought it would be.

The Plumping Gel Sticks Lipstick is apparently a plumping formula infused with mango butter that has a cushiony feel on lips courtesy a gel formula. A plumping agent adds volume to lips and diffuses the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles supposedly.

No worries, this isn’t injected with cinnamon or anything else! I hear plumping and automatically assume that it’s going to taste like a stick of Big Red gum but this has absolutely no flavor or fragrance nor does it sting or give lips a bitten feel. I actually didn’t experience the plumping effect but none the less adored the formula.

I’d liken the texture to a creamier version of Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick and dare I say as much as I love Tarte’s formula, Hard Candy’s is even better!

These have a light, creamy texture that glides onto lips easily without a skip! My lips are prone to dryness but these have a smooth, even application and finish. The texture is lightly creamy and weightless on lips. They don’t migrate or feather through the four hour wear time and they keep my lips very, very pleasantly moist and softened through that wear. The finish is cream but has a very slight shine that makes them appear fresh and moist even on my dry lips. Pigmentation is beautiful! I tried two of the several shades that have available and both shades applied opaque on a single pass.

I can’t believe I paid $5 for lipstick this good!

All in all Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick put together a fabulously budget friendly lipstick that’s a pure pleasure to wear! The quality here rivals a lipstick that you may pay $20 or more for. It’s light, creamy, hydrating, and packs a nice bit of pigment.

What more could a girl want?

Loves it!

Hard Candy Plumping Serum Lipstick is available now at Walmart and Walmart.com.

I passed on these because of the plumping, assuming they would sting. But I’ll have to grab one (or three) next time I’m at the “Evil Empire”. I guess they mean plumping more in the anti-aging sense, like it fills lines and gives a smoother appearance.

    • Isabella Muse

no sting here! they have no taste/flavor 😉 Yeah I think that’s what they mean, just line smoothing!

Count me curious! I’ll def have to pick some of these up! I especially love the Admired shade! What a great every day neutral. It’s like a my lips but better shade! Awesome find! Both colors work so well for you! But more so I am loving that shirt! It’s so pretty with the lace/tulle or whatever material it might be! If I was there, I’d insist on raiding your closet and borrowing it!

    Thanks for another great review!

    • Isabella Muse

LOL lacy I love you chica 🙂 <3! You can raid my closet anytime you want 🙂 thank you for your lovely comments!

You’re welcome! Yay clothes swap! Brings me back to college days! haha.

The only place I can get Hard Candy is the place we don’t speak of correct?!

  • Maggie

Ugh, you seriously look good in every shade of lip product…it’s not fair! Thanks for the review, Hard Candy has never grabbed my attention, but these look super creamy/moisturizing and worth a second look.

I like Tarte’s Amazonian butter lipsticks but they are definitely a little thin and drying on my dry lips. I’ll have to have some of my friends keep an eye out for these when they go to Walmart!

I see that the first one is shimmery–how did the shimmer feel/wear while it was on your lips? (It looks pretty, but I hate how shimmer can feel annoying or migrate to the lip lines.) 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

there isn’t any shimmer in either shade Heather. Hope this helps! 🙂

      • Heather F.

My eyes must be crazy–I could’ve sworn the nudish one looked shimmery in the tube! Thanks for the response!

        • Isabella Muse

no no all cream no shimmery here 🙂 or at least none I can see once applied!

          • Isabella Muse

ps I think it’s just sweating a little that might be the sparkle factor!

  • Linda Whitener

I loved these, too, Muse–best formula I have encountered in a long time, and the price is amazing. (Those are the same colors I chose, too. Great minds think alike? 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

AGREED 🙂 wish they had more colors to choose from 😀 haha indeed Linda!

  • Kris

Do you feel that they plumped your lips Isabella? Sounds too good to be true!

    • Isabella Muse

nope, it did not Kris! 🙂 mentioned that in the review! Hope this helps!

  • Ashley

Both are so pretty, I like both of them on you. They look super hydrating and the color payoff looks awesome. Did they have a wide range of color choices? I’m very fair so these two would be good choices. It gets old paying around $20 for a decent lipstick.

    • Isabella Muse

I believe there are 8 or 10 Ashley, I kinda wish there were more 🙂

  • Ayman

WOW….The shades are gorgeous and looks so pretty on you….As usual….
Can you tell me the ingredients of this lipstick?

  • Genevieve

Very pretty lipsticks on you Isabella. And great quality for the price. Hope they have a marsala colour in their range. I am going to check this out! Always love a good lipstick – it makes my day.

  • amy

I love the first colour on you! I really have to go check these out. Hopefully they’ll have a nice light colour for me since I don’t look good in dark or bright colours. The lighter the better for me! thanks for the review!

  • Melanie

I absolutely LOVED these lipsticks! I went & got almost every color 🙂 the gel formula is amazing, I’m not usually one that likes lipstick I’m more of a lipgloss girl but these are so creamy & smooth and you definitely cannot beat the price!! I like that it doesn’t feel like your lips are burning either lol
