They Changed The Texture of When Hope Is Not Enough but Did They Change The Smell?

Philosophy When Hope is Not Enough Balm

Philosophy When Hope is Not Enough Balm is a new to Philosophy’s Hope family. It actually sounds very promising as it’s formulated with peptides, antioxidants, omega 3, 6, and 9 as well as skin brighteners.

Totally pulling a Stefan here when I say “This place has it everything!” Problem? Jar packaging!

Oh and about that smell….

Philosophy gets skincare right. Believe me I’ve been a fond fan of their Miracle Worker range for a while and I have yet to find a line of skincare that works as well and believe me I try a lot in my quest to find the foundation of youth at the bottom of a bottle of moisturizer.

One thing I avoid from Philosophy? When Hope is Not Enough! I’m sorry but it smells just like WET dog!

Hope in a Jar Eau de Wet Dog

So as tempting as Philosophy’s new When Hope is Not Enough Balm is I think I might have to wait and see what reviews pop up about the scent….! Your moisturizer should not smell like eau de dog!

Know what I mean?

Hey, Muse! You doin okay girl? (I read ya every day but don’t always feel like I have anything productive to add.)

It’s funny you review this today. Last night I tried to use a sample of HIAJ Night moisturizer and it smelled rancid. Thought it might’ve been me, so let the Mr. have a whiff. His face said everything. I’ve never used their products before. Do _all_ of them smell odd??? Did not end up using it. Can’t imagine trying to sleep with that on my face. I’ve read so many raves it was disappointing.

I know beauty is pain but does it hafta stink, too?

I hate hate HATE the smell of the Hope line! To me, it smells like a rotten pineapple! I bought some several years ago after a friend raved about it and put it on before work. I could smell that horrid smell all morning long!! I had to go home on my lunch and wash my face to get rid of it I thought maybe I got a bad jar, but she sniffed it and said that’s how it smells. UGH!! I don’t care how well it works, if it smells THAT BAD, it isn’t for me!!
