Ciate Eye Chalk Pastel Eye Pencil1

Ciate Eye Chalk Pastel Eye Pencil is a cream eyeshadow pencil that launched with the new Ciate Makeup Collection. Ya know, I’ve been testing out Ciate’s new makeup range for a while now and I couldn’t put my finger on what it reminded me of and finally it came to me! Ciate’s cutesy little makeup range reminds me of Korean brand, Too Cool for School! It was the Ciate Eye Chalk Pencil that sealed the deal as it very much reminds me of Too Cool for School’s offering for some reason.

I happen to be a fan of cream eyeshadow pencils as they just prove so simple to apply and use. When you’re running around in the morning like a chicken without a head and just want to swipe on a quickie yet pretty eye look they are so the way to go.

Let’s take a peek at Ciate’s version!

Ahhhh Ciate’s makeup range is pretty good but I gotta give a thumbs down to the Eye Chalk Pencils because 1. they are kinda expensive and 2. the shade range is pretty limited.

As you can see these come cutely packaged. The box has little ribbons, stars, and bows and the actual pencil has the same graphics. I tried out the shade Teacher’s Pet which is a light frosty lavender with very nice pigmentation. Unfortunately I can’t wear it. I’ve stopped believing that I look good in pastels (true story, I had myself convinced for a while that I could rock the socks off pastels!). This is a terribly creamy texture, it’s pretty dense and does drag a bit during application! The blend out is a little better though as the formula softens slightly and blends decently. The wear is brilliant! 12 hours and not a crease or a single issue with fading! I think the drier texture might prove well for those with oily lids as this one seems budge proof.

I have my issues with these pencils though! Ciate’s range seems to fluctuate in pricing from being inexpensive to a little on the higher mid price range! At $16 I feel like these are a BIT expensive especially when there are better formulated pencils like say Milani’s Eyez Pencil range which cost heaps less and have several hundred other color options available compared to Ciate’s three (all of which are pastel).

Ciate Eye Chalk Pastel Eye Pencil are cute but bit too expensive with a limited range of shades and a formula that just wasn’t creamy enough for this makeup lover!

Ciate Eye Chalk Pastel Eye Pencil and the entire Ciate Makeup Range is available now at Sephora and Sephora.com.
