Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara Review

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara is new volumizing mascara that Covergirl recently launched for Summer 2015. I’m always reading reviews where everyone is telling me that some Covergirl mascara or another is going to change my makeup life. I end up trying said mascara and come out of having a WTH am I missing experience as many times I’m disappointed.

This is particular the case with Lashblast formulas. I always find the applicators too big, quite clumsy, and for a klutz like me I have a lot of “you’ll poke your eye out, kid!” moments.

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara does change things around slightly with a new thinner, spiker brush that promises to increase volume by up to 400%.

Does it?

Mmm I dunno about volume but I’d say Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara gives good length.

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara comes with a new style brush that’s flexible and has a unique style that allows you twirl the brush easily as you apply the mascara. So if you’re one a wriggler or one for twirling your applicator as you apply this brush might just be your BFF forevers. I’m not a fan of the flexible brush as I feel a little bit like I don’t have control over application and my first try I did feel like I ended up with goopey looking lashes. It took a second for me to get used to the brush but after a hot minute I finally started liking it. The longer bristles or spikes of the brush comb the mascara through lashes and the applicator is extra long so it allows you to capture lashes in the inner, middle, and outer corners of your lash line easily.

The formula is a polymer bases with both a mix of waxes and clays so it gives you room to easily build before it completely sets. It is a very lightweight formula and kinda gives “wispy” or “fluttery” lashes in my opinion. The straight line applicator fits easily under your lash line and pulls all your lashes upward and out. It doesn’t quite keep curl very well but the formula is light so it doesn’t give stiff or crunchy lashes. In my experience, I get a lot of length from the formula but not a ton of volume or curl.

It isn’t waterproof and removes with soap and water easily. I personally had no issues with it flaking or smearing but I do have drier eyes so not sure how it will work out on oily eyes/lids.

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara is an ok experience for me. I always wish for a mascara that isn’t a one trick pony and delivers both excellent volume and length. The Super Size has the length down right but I wish it would also gift us with the volume it promises!

Covergirl The Super Sizer by Lashblast Mascara is available now at drugstores.

I purchased this item.

I’m still on the fence with this. I like it but I’m still getting used to the twirling part. In one way, I feel like I need to use it on days when I have enough time to apply it properly. For me, it’s not something I can just put on quickly. I think the more I use it and get used to the twirling of the wand I will like it but right now, it makes a globby mess if I don’t slow down and apply it correctly. It is nice once it’s on though. But I get no volume just length, like you said. Glad I got it on sale with a coupon.

I can’t chew gum and walk at the same time so I try not to twirl as I apply, it just ends up a mess lol!

I purchased this last week but have not used it because I recently opened up a new package of my HG Benefit mascara. I have not found a drugstore mascara that works well for me but I will admit that what drew me to this one is the color of the packaging. I don’t see much of a difference in your before and after photos so I think I am not going to be happy with this one because I prefer volume over length.

I’ve been waiting for your review on this! Thanks. It did give you good length but I think I’ll pass otherwise. I don’t like the look of the brush and it wasn’t wow enough for me to want to purchase. Meh

Have you snatched the new L’oreal Miss Manga Rock yet? it’s now my HG! can’t wait to tell ya about it and hear your thoughts.

No lace, little scared, because I didn’t like Miss Manga’s original but if you say you like it, I’ll try 😀

      • Lacy

Oh I HATED the original with a passion. The Rock version is awesome though. And i much prefer a rubber brush like the one it comes with.

I will say the only thing that I found as a con is that it is a wet yet thick formula if that makes sense, For me it’s a show stopper, I get crazy thick, voluminous, long, BLACKER than my soul lashes! This is by far the blackest most pigmented blackest black I have seen from a drugstore – Oh And it holds a curl! hehe

My secret to applying is I give my lashes a quick crimp, pull the wand out of the tube which I will point out there is no need to double dip during application! I note this because there is PLENTY of product on the wand. I swipe a quick layer on the top side of both my lashes (yeah it sounds weird but always makes them look longer) and then I apply as normal to both eyes and BOOM. MAGGGIIICCCC.
There will be plenty of product to do both eyes and even lower lashes without needing to go back for more. It may seem like it’s clumping up or making lashes stick together but once you do both lashes and go back through with the wand to help disburse it’s amazeballs!!! Clearly I love this stuff… hahaha

good! I’m looking forward to trying it Lacy 🙂 If you like it I might just feel the same 😀 Sounds really good!

when I saw that brush I knew it couldn’t be a volumizing mascara. I’m using LashBlast Length and that is very close to that wand if not the same.

I agree that it’s a pleasure to build with, and normally I have a very hard time building up mascara but this really let me. Also agree it’s a bit goopey and I thought it was gonna be a disaster but not so bad.. not the worst, not the best? lol all in all fun for 7 dollars, better if you have a coupon. 🙂 I love the tube itself it is larger and reminded me a lot of how big mascara tubes could be in the 80’s 🙂

I’ve always had such a hard time with mascaras, my HG used to be the falsies by maybelline, but I feel like they may have changed their formula so on a whim I bought this and it took some getting used to but it really does give me thick, crazy awesome lashes. My one complaint is I seem to buy this mascara like crazy; it dries up really easy and I get a new tube every month. Has anyone else had that issue?
