Dior 5 Couleurs Designer Makeup Artist Tutorial Palette

I fear I have a love hate relationship with Dior Eyeshadow Palettes so I’m not sure if I’ll love the new 5 Couleurs Designer Makeup Artist Tutorial Palette.

Things I do love?

Reeve Carney.

Such a beautiful boy!

But about those new Dior Eyeshadow Palettes….

The new Dior 5 Couleurs Designer Makeup Artist Tutorial Palette ($62) are inspired by a makeup artist’s palette featuring five shades to get an easy gradating color on lids. The satiny eyeshadows have a pearlescent finish and give eyes a contrasting look easily by using each of the five shades to shade, sculpt, highlight, and define eyes in five easy steps with five beautifully pigmented shades.

Shades:

  • Nude Pink Design
  • Khaki Design
  • Purple Design

You might have spotted the major problem with these palettes, that being the cream eyeliner. Mmmmm! I dislike cream and powder products housed in the same compact as it does create a bit of a mess. I also fear the liner will harden up and become unusable given time! But maybe Dior will fool me here. I admit to loving the Khaki palette but Dior eyeshadows tend to be a bit too frosty at times. Don’t get me wrong, I own a few I adore but in most cases they end up more of a miss for me than a hit.

Perhaps these new palettes will change my mind…

Dior 5 Couleurs Designer Makeup Artist Tutorial Palette are available now on counters or online at Nordstrom.com.

Reeve unfortunately doesn’t come with your $62 purchase but you can drool all over him by watching Penny Dreadful on Sunday nights. I actually saw him in Spiderman on Broadway but just started crushing on him last season as Dorian Grey in Penny Dreadful. His dandy persona is too sexy! Yum!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hello and welcome back! Hope you had a wonderful time and are feeling rested.

BTW there are five of these new Dior palettes: nude pink, khaki, navy (not purple), amber, and taupe. They look lovely but I agree with you about mixing mediums (powders and gels). Dior is definitely a hit-or-miss proposition.

thanks chica! 🙂 it was lovely! but it’s always nice to come home! OOOO! amber! 😀 Yeah, that’s the only issue I have also though, Dior shadows can be frosty so I tend to have to swatch on counter to see if I need!

Glad you’re back. I am also currently loving Penny Dreadful but I’m more of an Ethan girl myself. I love him matched with anybody. (Vanessa, Dorian, Rose…I mean Brona…I mean Lily) Have you seen that completely adorable preview scene for next week when Vanessa takes Dorian shopping? The levity counters this weeks intensiveness.

And one of my new tv boyfriends is cutie Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Have you checked out the Netflix show yet?

    • Isabella Muse

Hey Pamela thanks! Good to be home. josh hartnett has really come a long way! He really does have something going for him, maybe it’s his twang-y accent 🙂 but yes, there’s something there! 🙂 No! I didn’t! I haven’t watch this week’s episode yet so haven’t seen the previews at the end 🙂 Hmmm I’m sure that Dorian can teach Vanessa a thing or two about fashion haha! Haven’t yet watched Daredevil but it is on my binge list at some point 🙂 Perhaps this Summer!

      • Pamela

The clip is on youtube right now (I am of course subscribed to the Penny Dreadful youtube channel) 😉 And sorry, Vanessa takes Victor shopping. I must have Dorian on my mind. Vanessa and Victor have a much more jokey sister–brother vibe here.

I can’t wait to hear what you think of Daredevil. Let us know if you ever get around to it.

        • Isabella Muse

OH WAIT I’m a dork I had Victor confused for a second with Ethan! HEAD DESK! I’m so confused sometimes haha. That was a cute clip just watched it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously Victor is totally going to fall in love “the Bride”! 😀 I surely will!

      • Pamela

Sorry, sorry. I meant that Victor and Vanessa go shopping together. I just had Dorian on the brain. Victor and Vanessa have a much more jokey brother-sister vibe.

        • Isabella Muse

oh darn I’d have loved to see Dorian going shopping haha 😀

Hmm…I have a dior 5 color palette that includes a liner shade. The liner shade was pretty much a waste, unpigmented, dry and unusable. Maybe they will reformulate. Dior makes some beautiful sparkly satin shades though some of the colors fell out of the pan after one year so I’m not share they’re travel safe. Still would repurchase due to the beauty of the colors and packaging.

I think these are re-releases of a series of palettes they brought out a few years ago. I am just wondering if they are better. The Khaki one looks good to me.
