MAC Tumble Dry

MAC Tumble Dry Lustre Lipstick is one of four limited edition lipsticks that launched with the MAC Wash & Dry Summer 2015 Collection.

I have a love hate relationship with MAC Lustre Lipstick. Sometimes I’m totally into ’em but sometimes a certain shade doesn’t quite look right in this particular formula and I end up hating on the finish.

Boooooo!

Unfortunately, Tumble Dry Lustre Lipstick is one such shade!

I feel like MAC Tumble Dry Lustre Lipstick has such potential! It’s a pretty pastel peachy orange which mac dubs peach coral (not so much, looks more orange to me). It doesn’t have a terrible amount of pigmentation unfortunately and the color it does have ends up looking beige on me which translates as a bad case of zombie lips. Sad sigh!

Typically the Lustre formula has a very soft, soothing feel on my lips with a hint of a sheen. The texture feels very balm to me. Wear time On Tumble Dry was a little short on me at about three hours and I felt like the color just ended up falling into my natural lip lines giving the appearance of a dry, uneven finish. Not a good look! The shade might just work for someone with paler lips than my own as perhaps you’ll be able to see that pretty lighter peachy orange. My lips are pretty pigmented so the shade ends up looking kinda beige and zombie-ish!

As with all the MAC Wash & Dry Collection this does come in limited edition packaging which features a gradating colored barrel with shades of orange, grassy greenish yellow, and green.

I know you think it looks unflattering but in the photo it looks really pretty on you.

I honestly think it looks cute on you! I’m trying to see the beige but it looks like it’s your lips but better from the pic. I picked up half of this collection sans brushes, bag and bronzers(it’s not even made for tan to darker skintones, ugh). I love the texture of morange but too scared to wear it at its full potential, so I would dab it on my lips and apply the orange Lip Glass (forget the name) over it. Haven’t tried tumble dry yet but I like the finish :/

This is exactly why I have soooo many drugstore lipsticks and like only 10 or so higher end ones! If i pay under $10 for one and i hate the finish, feel, or color im not happy but i can live with it. On the other hand, i have a couple high end lippies that i absolutely hate, but ferl like total crap for wasting the money on them! I’ve been scouring the web for some good Dyi lipstick recipes and hopefully i can mix some of these together and create my perfect shade!

Yeah, I can see why you don’t like this one. I can barely see any color on your lips, but good to hear you found other colors you like
