Maybelline Pursuit of Pink Master Glaze Blush Stick Review & Swatches
Maybelline Pursuit of Pink Master Glaze Blush Stick is a new limited edition cream blush stick that launched with the Maybelline Queen of New York 100 Years Collection for Summer 2015 which is now available at drugstores.
Ok, so, I’m not huge on cream blush and I’m not really all that big a fan of Maybelline Master Glaze Blush Sticks either. Don’t hate me, the formula just isn’t one I love! But Maybelline, well, they have a way with marketing! I noticed Pursuit of Pink and instantly the “limited edition” sticker lit up like neon and I was all, “OMG I have to have it!” Don’t lie, you’ve totally been in that situation before. It’s like “limited edition” is the trigger for you must own this now!
And I’m actually kinda glad I indulged in Maybelline Pursuit of Pink Master Glaze Blush Stick!
Or at least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
Maybelline welcomed Master Glaze Blush Sticks into the family for Spring 2014 in six shade selections and later on they even introduced a few matte shades for those of us that complained they were a bit too shimmery! I’ve always said the drugstore world is kinda lacking in the cream blush stick department so Master Glaze fills some of that void up (Let’s just forget the horror of Revlon Baby Sticks because those don’t count like, at all!).

These typically run around $8 to $10 bucks depending where you’re buying ’em from! I got mine at Harmons and paid $7.49 so not too bad. Each is a chubby little swivel up blush stick that holds 0.24 oz of product. As you can see this comes in special limited edition packaging that features a New York cityscape on the barrel’s cap!
This is formulated with shea butter and have a creamy glide on cheeks with a dewy finish that doesn’t cling to drier areas. Now I should say Master Glaze are a mixed finish for me as some are very satiny but Pursuit of Pink is quite dewy! I never felt like this shade really set so just keep that in mind prior to a purchase. The shade has excellent pigmentation and can be worn sheered out or built for a nice pop. I get about three hours of wear before I see fading and the shade loses intensity by this time as well. I feel like the formula and the finish reminds me a lot of NARS the Multiple as the consistency, glow, and even the formula feel quite the same. Maybelline says these contain liquid shimmer pearls but to me it’s just a lot of shimmer particularly in this shade. Indoors it looks fine but head outside and I’m all night fever night fever! Disco ball in the house! It’s a very pretty luminosity but with my heavy hand it can easily be overdone!
Maybelline Pursuit of Pink Master Glaze Blush Stick is a pretty medium pink but a slightly blue tone. It’s a cooler pink but it gives a very pretty pink glow on cheeks!
All in all I was happy I purchased Pursuit of Pink! It’s quite a nice color and I’ll likely get a nice bit of use out of it for light, natural Summer looks!
Maybelline Pursuit of Pink Master Glaze Blush Stick is available now at drugstores for a limited time.
