Secret Kiss Chubby Jelly Tint Pack1

Secret Kiss Chubby Jelly Tint Pack is a new lip mask slash lip stain slash lip color slash lip tattoo that’s incredibly odd and every so unique. Typically “pack” is a loosely used term in Asian beauty that refers to facial masks, face powders, and in some cases, like this one, a lip mask.

But this isn’t a traditional lip mask by any means. It’s not something you’re going to lay around with and come out of the experience with exfoliated and softer lips. Oh no no…this is a lip staining mask.

Odd?

Sure.

But I’m about beauty unusual!

Secret Kiss Chubby Jelly Tint Pack

Secret Kiss Chubby Jelly Tint Pack is a new lip tattoo stain that launched in three shade selections. It comes housed in a squeeze tube with a slanted plastic applicator for application. It basically resembles an unassuming little lipgloss! But don’t let the packaging fool you as this isn’t just a lipgloss.

Basically you’ll be applying this onto your lips and allowing it to dry for several minutes (at least five) and proceeding to peel it off. As you peel it leaves behind a staining effect on lips that will apparently last for up to 12 hours.

See, I’m of the mentality you don’t need a ton of bells and whistles when it comes to beauty. I mean, a simple lip stain with an applicator works for me. But I’m also all about fun and this is an odd and fun way to get your lip stain application in but also a messy one!

I tried applying this using my finger as I thought it would give me better control of the product but actually I do suggest applying it directly to your lips using the slanted plastic applicator. It applies messy as hell! It’s very thick with a sticky, gel like consistency that feels like a jelly of sorts. I posted a picture below showing what it looks like and as you can see I look like look a five year old applied my lipgloss. The texture isn’t very forgiving and it creeps around the upper and lower lip line as you apply. Thankfully this isn’t an issue after you “peel” it off. Now it take time to dry down which sucks because if you’re rushing around doing your makeup in the morning who has five minutes to wait for their “lip mask” or lip stain to set?!?! Not I! You don’t want to peel it off too soon because it’ll be wet, gross, and messy as you peel so you do have to give it at the least five minutes to set. As it dries down it tightens and becomes stiffer. After 5 minutes it does take on a mask-like quality around lips! Now the peeling part was a little challenging since I have shorter nails and couldn’t grasp a piece to pull off but after a brief struggle and a little rolling my finger on my lip the mask started to show signs of peeling. I was unable to peel it back and it left behind a reddish stain. I choose the cherry red stain and honestly, I expected it to be more vibrant and intense as it applies crazy pigmented but it peels off to leave behind a more subtle staining effect. I felt a good deal of dryness after peeling and well into the wear of five hours (Nope, no way did it last a full 12!). I wore it a few different days and the wear seemed to vary at around four to five hours before fading away.

It’s fun, yes but necessary? Probably not! Lip stains are easier to apply from a pen or with a sponge applicator. This was just messy and I didn’t see the benefits of applying a stain in such a way aside from the fact that the application was kinda fun and a bit different from the norm. I mean any good stain will wear at around four hours so I wouldn’t say this provided longer wear and the color wasn’t terribly pigmented so again, there wasn’t anything special in that direction. I think the entire product is just a novelty but not so much a different or innovation lip stain formula!

Is it worth trying?

Sure!

It’s fun to say the least!

But, like I said, this doesn’t bring anything different or beneficial to the lip stain world.

Ohhh I need to look into that! I was planning to purchase the Berrisom tint packs……but the Missha Painting Rouge Syrup & Chiffon came out….so…I bought those instead.

Have you tried the Berrisom versions? They look really pretty and have a wide range of colors!

I have indeed! the Berrisom shades are much nicer than the Secret Key ones too! How’s the Missha Painting Rouge Syrup & Chiffon? I’ve been debating on it!

I just got them last night! I have the chiffon version in CPP01 and CRD01 also the syrup version in SBE01.

I’m not much of a gloss person, but I would prefer the syrup version more because it glides on the lips really well. Both are super pigmented, but the chiffon version takes a bit of time to warm up on the lips to glide it properly. Its kinda hard to explain the texture of the chiffon one, but it goes on well after you figure it out. It just doesn’t feel moisturizing nor very drying.

They are both pigmented that my very dark lips are covered by these shades. I would say try one from each line, but the packaging is simple (kinda boring lol).

haha boring package oh no! 😀 They sound interesting! Might have to check ’em out!! Thanks Miss Silk!

I’ve been intrigued by these on eBay for a while now but had no idea of which brand to choose. Any thoughts on which has the best pigmentation and wear time? I’m forever in search of my HG lippie that will have good color payoff, not need to be reapplied, isn’t glossy or sticky and is transfer resistant. Crazy, right? 😉 The best I’ve come across so far is Tarte’s matte lip stains but at their price point, ouch…
    What are your thoughts?

  • Daheep

I find the best way to peel lip tint packs is to squeeze your lips together. The film from one lip will transfer to the other, making it easier to peel off in one go. You can then take it a step further by firmly blotting your lips with a sturdy tissue or paper towel then gently pull off the tissue (& the mask with it) starting at one lip corner to the other.

Do you feel these have a longer wear than the Berrisom ones?

    • Isabella Muse

Excellent tip Daheep! Thanks! 🙂 Yes, they are more vibrant and pigmented so the wear is a little stronger for me!

This stuff looks so cool! I really want to pick one up to try soon. 😀

a few other brands made ones like this and I’ve been obsessed. I used colorniques after seeing them advertised on fb and then after having trouble ordering again I ordered a bunch of berrisome’s (cheaper) they’re better for work anyway.
