Tarte Tightlining Eyeliner

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Tightlining Eyeliner makes an appearance in the new Tarte Beauty in the Basics 6 Piece Collection which debuts exclusively at QVC on May 11th. It may be a new product for you if you’re a new Tarte fan but I REMEMBER it being one of my first big Tarte purchases like back in 2007 or 2008! True story.

I loved it back then. I thought it was just great that they had an eyeliner that was exclusively available for tightlining and waterline use. The pencil was smaller and the tip was flat which was ideal for smoothing over the waterline. It was just a really handy little tool!

Let’s see the new version of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Tightlining Eyeliner!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Tightlining Eyeliner was created exclusively for tightlining and perhaps if you like on your waterline as well. This has a flat head that’s quite tiny and great for delicate areas like your upper or lower waterline. It’s a twist up pencil design

Ahhhhh….I wanna say great things about this but I don’t really like it. Eep! It could potentially be an oily eye users greatest joy but for me it runs very, very dry and very, very dense. I understand why they went drier with this formula as you are using it on the waterline and they likely don’t want it to be too creamy less it smears. But unfortunately I find it impossible to apply without kinda hurting myself during application. The color just doesn’t transfer well on my waterline and doesn’t apply much better if I’m using it as a simple eyeliner on my lash line because it drags and tugs during application. I think the dryness translates pretty well in my swatches.

I’m surprised the formula changed so much as I remember loving the original and finding it quite pigmented and very creamy. I personally need something a little more creamier when it comes to eyeliners but those of you with oily lids might be grateful for a formula like this.

Sorry Tarte, this one is a no go for me!

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Tightlining Eyeliner is available exclusively in the Tarte QVC May Today’s Special Value which debuts on qvc.com May 11th.

That’s lame. Such a good idea though! I hope some other brands bring out a better version!!

I have oily lids and a wet waterline, so this could work for me.

I got one of these a few years back as a Sephora “perk”, and it did not work at all! Apparently, it wasn’t just a fluke… However, I did find another use for it; I like to use b
ack for my brows, and because it was dry, not very pigmented, and thin, it worked out perfectly!

I wish they still had the Lights, Camera, Lashes inner rim liner in black. The EmphasEYES liner just isn’t the same. I was hoping this would be more like the old one.

All of Tarte’s eyeliners and mascaras gives me raccoon eyes. Nothing beats Inglot’s gel eyeliner!

Muse, I think you may have gotten a bum one. I got my set today and the liner was perfect–creamy, easy to apply, no pulling or tugging on the waterline. Maybe yours was a bit dried out for some reason?

could be Neesha! I had a press set so sometimes the formula is a little different! I’m glad yours was a ok! 🙂
