MAC Cucumber Prep + Prime Fix+ Review
So yeah MAC Cucumber Prep + Prime Fix+ makes me feel like I’m misting myself down with salad dressing. Shrug. Sorry! But a cucumber scented facial mist? It just makes me think of salad!
MAC Cucumber Prep + Prime Fix+ is one of five new limited edition MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ in a variety of scents and cucumber is one. This is a great one for tucking in the fridge as it feels cool and fresh on skin after a long hard day at work (or play!).
MAC Cucumber Prep + Prime Fix+ is a lightweight water mist infused with antioxidants and the refreshing but subtle crisp, cool scent of cucumber. I love MAC for introducing Fix+ in different scents. I’m a lover of fragrance in my skincare. I realize there are sensitive users out there that don’t care for it but personally fragrance just adds a little bit of a nicer element to skincare for me. The cucumber scent in this is incredible subtle but very fresh and crisp!
You can use Fix+ in a variety of ways. Step out of the shower and mist it all over your face to lightly hydrate your skin prior to applying your skincare. The lightweight moisture it provides allows moisturizer, serums, and other skincare to absorb more easily into skin. Or mist it on after makeup to set it for longer wear!
Personally, I don’t really like the Fix+ formula as a makeup setting spray. I always feel like I’m my makeup is melting off if I use after makeup so I tend to use it prior to makeup and skincare. Although if you’re a big mineral powder or powder makeup user you’ll find Fix+ refines the finish of powders and adds a bit of moisture so powder doesn’t dull out your complexion or give it a flat finish!
Funny as I tried Coconut and that seemed to absorb a bit of the excess oil on my face but Cucumber feels a little more moisturizing to me which is great as I’m all about more moisture. I like storing the Cucumber Prep + Prime Fix+ in the fridge at my office and misting it on mid-day when my face feels like it needs a little refresher!
Honestly, if you’re misting this into the air at the counter you are NOT going to smell the cucumber. This is on face experience and the scent is very subtle but still lovely none the less.
I’m glad MAC released these but I kinda wish they did it in the Charged Water formula instead which I find a bit more moisturizing than the Fix+ formula but none the less I love these and I’m glad I purchased them.
