Maybelline Clear Great Lash Is Like Hairspray for Stray Brows

Maybelline Clear Great Lash

So yeah, sometimes I leave the house looking like Albert Einstein. You know brows in disarray, looking all kinds of crazy. It’s not pretty. This is a particular problem when I’m growing my brows out. Sometimes when I have them threaded they’ll go a little too thin with them (which I hate) so I end up growing them back (which takes like a matter of seconds because left to their own devices my brows just grow like weeds!)! During that grow back period my brows just don’t want to stay in place! They are everywhere! So I need something to keep them nice and tidy and typically that would be the Milani Shaping Wax Pencil but more recently I’m really loving on Maybelline Clear Great Lash!

So yeah, I truly believe that Maybelline Great Lash Mascara is one of the most overhyped products evers so far be it for me to rave about the clear version but that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

Maybelline Great Lash Clear

This is simply a clear version of mascara which you can use on your lashes or your brows. Personally I don’t love it on lashes but on my brows it is awesome! The short brush is ideal for not only brushing the gel through my brows but also great for shaping them too. The clear gel is lightweight and doesn’t make my brows stiff in the least plus it holds them in place all day so they aren’t looking all crazy as I truly do believe they have a mind all their own.

And hey, you can double up and use this on your lashes too. Comb it through your lashes too add light curl and flutter to bare lashes! Or even prep with it and apply before mascara so lashes are soft, separated, and primed for your favorite mascara of choice!

If you have issues with your brows sticking up all over the place I’d highly suggest grabbing this cheap as chips Maybelline Clear Great Lash to keep them tidy and neat ($4 bucks at Harmons)!

Love this stuff!

How do you take your unruly brows?

I’ve tried this on lashes again and again and just can’t seem to make it work. It takes forever to dry down and does nothing to seperate or condition my lashes. I’ve actually yet to find a clear mascara I like. Any recommendations?

I don’t really use clear mascara so no recs unfortunately. And this I use only on my brows, it works best for me to hold my brows in place but I’m not really keen using it on my lashes!

Andrew try a low heat on a dryer and it will dry faster for you . I too use this on my brows to set them and my bottom lashes so I dont have the black poke-a-dots on my face from my mascara. 🙂

I love this under my telescopic mascara, if you do a light layer it will make your mascara apply beautifully! When I wear my mascara this way I always get asked if I’m wearing falsies.

This was one of the first clear brow gels I tried and, though I did like the formula, I hate how much product is dispensed onto the brush! I felt like every single time I went to apply it I had to wipe the brush down, or else have globs of product left behind. I also felt like the brush was way too soft and wasn’t stiff enough to comb through the hairs. 🙁 Did you have these issues?? If not, maybe I need to buy a new tube and try again… I tried it on my lashes too, since I don’t like to use regular mascara (I have super long black lashes, and I wear glasses, so mascara makes them hit the lenses…), but this just weighed them down and didn’t seem to do much! Oh well. I wish I could find a clear one I liked.

hm no! I liked the brush, it was nice and small and just picked up enough product without over doing things. They have a new version of it, which is the one I have maybe you have an old version?

  • Kimmyyy

Yup, I must have the old one then. This was years ago so that makes sense. Guess I’ll go pick up a new one! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

haha no worries! I never used to the old one so I can’t compare but this one has a nice small applicator and no ooey gooey issues 🙂 It’s also quite thin and almost feels hydrating on my brows!
