Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Skin Review

Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Skin

Chalk up the Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Skin ($14) as a makeup brush you need ASAP! Hair brush like makeup brushes are becoming increasingly popular lately like the Besame Boudoir Short Hair Contour Brush but really, they’ve been around a while and as far back as the MAC Masterclass Brush Collection that was created by Artis. I have a few Artis Makeup Brushes (I’m reviewing them soon) and they are truly makeup life changing so when I noticed that Etude House released their own variation of those brushes I was all over it.

Let’s take a look!

Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush Skin

The Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Skin was created for use with fluid foundation to create a more flawless, airbrushed finish. It looks quite like a fancy, vanity worthy hair brush of some sort but technically it’s a lot smaller in size (think concealer brush size)! What sets this brush apart from others like it is the fact that it has not one but two different applicators that can be snapped on and off the wand.

The first is a short bristled brush with dense yet very, very soft bristles and the second is a sponge applicator. The sponge applicator is nice but it isn’t what’s special about this brush in my opinion. The short bristled head is what makes this brush special!

Now as I mentioned above unlike other brushes like this, this is quite small. I placed a quarter next to the brush heads so you can see what I mean. Honestly, this isn’t an issue in the least and does not take away from the performance in any way, shape, or form but if you already own brushes like this you might be used to their larger sizes and this is considerably smaller. I like the small size as I feel I have more control over it and it works great for concealing as well. As far as I’m concerned you can use it to “brush” on either cream foundations or powders should you like.

This brush performs WONDERS. I typically apply foundation with my fingers but this brush can be makeup life changing as it really creates a beautiful, smooth, flawless finish. It sheers out, buffs in, and smooths foundation beautifully on skin. If you have drier skin, acne scarring, or less than smooth skin it really does a fine job of thinning foundation out and giving it a seamless airbrushed finish.

I love that the brush is customizable and I can swap the from a sponge to a bristled brush by simply snapping a new head onto the wand. It’s kinda cool and it’s is a feature that sets this brush apart from others like it plus let’s not forget the price is considerably cheaper than what we’ve seen from brushes like this in the past! The handle is a little flimsy as it’s made out of plastic but I didn’t feel it took away from the performance of the brush!

If you’re looking for an airbrushed finish this is the brush to deliver it!

You need this brush in your makeup life!

I’m not sure Maddi, the website and packaging don’t mention the fiber/animal hair used. The etude house secret beauty makeup brushes are typically synthetic so this might be too but I can’t confirm sadly!

I need another brush like I need a hole in the head, but this is intriguing. The shape is what interests me and I think I need to try it…

TT I should’ve bought this when I had the chance. Welp…guess I’m gonna wait till my next ebay bucks come in hahaha.

Missha came out with a similar brush, but one of the youtubers said it doesn’t feel like the Etude House one. ALSO these look like Artis brushes ^^ (which I want soo badly cuz they look soo classic!)

Yeah, I saw the Missha ones looks interesting sad to hear it isn’t the same texture as the EH! Yup, I actually discussed the Artis brushes in this post 🙂

Just ordered this from W2Beauty 😀 Can’t wait for it to arrive. There’s a brand called The Saem which has the same thing but I picked this since “Muse Approved” products are products I need. You are SO bad for my wallet.
