Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Bronzing Blush Stick3

Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Bronzing Blush Stick ($11.99) is a limited edition bronzing blush stick that launched with the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Spring 2015 Collection.

I know, I’m a little late reviewing this but I was feeling the bronzing effect a little more now that the warmer weather is here!

Let’s take a look!

I think people might automatically compare the Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Bronzing Blush Stick to the Sephora + Pantone Universe Marsala Cooling Multi-Stick but I find the textures and formulas vastly different so this isn’t really a dupe for Sephora’s multi-stick in the least in my opinion!

One thing you gotta love about this little stick is the cute, travel friendly size. This is a twist up chubby pencil which has a dome top much like what you’d see on the MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencils. The dome shape is brilliant as it fits the contours of my cheeks nicely and I can easily dab color on and blend out.

This color is a little odd because within the package it appears to be a bronzey brown but it applies far lighter and much nicer. I’d say the color morphs slightly and goes on cheeks as a luminous coppery bronze (much nicer than brown bronze in my opinion). The formula drags a little during application as it runs a touch dry but does have a slightly dewy finish that provides a pretty luminous glow on cheeks with a touch of shimmer. I wouldn’t call the texture ultra creamy so if you suffer from drier skin I’d recommend a touch of hydrating primer prior to application to keep things smooth and even as you apply. It does blend out considerably easier than the application though. The color is sheerer and can be worn alone on a fairer, paler skin or a lighter medium tone as a blusher bronzer of sorts but you might wish to apply it on top of cheek stain or cream blush if your skin runs darker since it acts more as a radiant highlighter versus a blusher shade. The wear time is a little shorter for me at around four hours before fading but this is typical as cream products tend to fade fast on my drier skin.

I LOVE the way it looks on though. The color looks really natural on me. As a person that tends to over do her blush a lot, because hey, I’m all kinds of heavy handed, this looks very natural, subtle, and sheer and still somehow pops on my complexion!

The Sonia Kashuk Sahara Sunset Bronzing Blush Stick is the perfect little highlighter for those with darker skin tones and an ideal way to get a sunkissed glow on cheeks and face for those with fair or medium complexions. The color looks a little scary in the packaging but don’t let that sway you as it looks really pretty on cheeks!

You can grab it now, for a limited time, at Target or Target.com.

the shade looks really different after you applied it onto your face! from brown (on your hand) to an orange (on your cheeks)! the subtle glow makes you look so healthy 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

yeah! The brown is kinda meh for me but it changes to a delightful copper on my skin 🙂 thank you! 🙂

I had high hopes for this product but when I reviewed this awhile back all I got was a glitter bomb on my cheeks. It never looked quite natural enough for me to put it into my rotation. I was looking for something similar to one of my Chanel products but then again who can really dupe Chanel. Great post! Glad you had better luck than I did.

No kid? I thought the shimmer was really minimal! I wanted more haha! Sorry Tracy! Did you try the Sephora Pantone one? Maybe that might be better for you?

  • Tracy

I’ll definitely check that one out. Thanks for the recommendation!

my pleasure! Also if you have a sponge handy you can apply this and blend out with the sponge, it might minimize and sheer out the shimmer for you!

    Looks beautiful on you!
These stick formulas always interest me. Did you apply it straight from the stick, or did you paint it on a brush then apply it with the brush??

    • Isabella Muse

Aw thanks! I dab from the stick! I really shouldn’t but I find it so much easier to apply it this way 😀

I have come to just love me some Sonia Kashuk …her products are so UNDERRATED! Not sure if you have the eyes on neutral palette but if not RUN and get it…by far my favorite palette over all the high end one’s!!
