Tarte Energy Noir Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss

Tarte Energy Noir Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss ($19) is a new shade of Tarte’s popular Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss that launched with the Tarte Fall 2015 Collection. This lipgloss promises to give lips a custom shade of berry that can be used on its own or as a glossy lip layering topcoat.

Let’s take a look!

Tarte Energy Noir Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss is the second shade available in Tarte’s Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss formula. This is a pH level gloss that acts with your body chemistry to create a custom shade of berry on lips.

This gloss is a tricky little devil! It swatches disappointingly as it looks like a blackened melted ice pop shade of grape. I admit I swatched it and kinda curled my nose up at the shade. It just doesn’t look like a particularly nice shade. But don’t let the shade sway you because it actually morphs very nicely once applied on lips!

It’s actually really sheer and the color acts to enhance the natural shade of your own lips. It give lips a slight hint of berry with a highly glossy finish. I thought it would be deeper and perhaps more grape-ish but the color is very natural on lips. Depending how pigmented your lips you’ll get a variety of results. Deeply pigmented lips will likely get a darker shade of berry where as paler lips might notice the color lends a subtle berry finish.

I love the formula on this. It’s isn’t tacky nor is it sticky and it has a very, very glossy finish. The hourglass applicator saturates well with gloss and applies on lips without feeling dry or draggy. It does have a faint creme brulee flavor but not a heavy fragrance. It wears for about three hours on its own and lends a nice glossiness to lipsticks or stains for a good four hours.

I like how this looks on its own but where it really excels is on top of red or vampy lip shades as it really adds depth and glossiness to shades!

As we head into Fall you’ll likely see more and more purples and berry shades for the cooler weather and Tarte Energy Noir Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss will add a nice bite of berry on bare lips or over your favorite lipstick for the season ahead!

I love this concept! I think Smashbox has a dark lipgloss that gives off a similar my lips but better effect!

I am very excited for this, and can’t wait to see your review of the lip tint. I just received the noir lip and cheek palette yesterday, and it is gorgeous. This Fall collection from tarte is awesome.

muse, does this have the same scent as the other tarte lip surgence glosses? i bought the envy shade back in the fall and i had to quit using it because the scent was too strong for me. i really want to try this out but not if its very perfumed.

I’ve never had any perfumed tasting Tarte Lipsurgence, Morgane. This one and all my others have a strong perfume flavor/fragrance. Hope this helps!?
