The Best Matte Lipsticks for Fall 2015
Love or hate it matte lipsticks are back for Fall 2015 and I’ve compiled a list of the best matte lipsticks for Fall 2015 that I think are utterly wearable, easy to apply, and easy to wear without drying your lips out.
I remember when I started my blog nearly 8 years ago and matte lipsticks were all the rage. Unfortunately, at that time I didn’t feel like the formula of any of these matte lipstick formulas on the market weren’t completely draining the moisture from my lips. For serious, wearing matte lipstick was a lot like that scene in Tank Girl where Kesslee stabs a water bottle into a dude’s back and proceeds to extra all the water from his body.
Needless to say matte lipsticks weren’t a pleasant experience. But mattes have evolved so much since 2007 with formulas that are creamier, longer wearing, and not nearly as moisture draining as they once were.
As we head into Fall 2015, matte lipsticks are going to become more and more popular with a possibility of the trend following into the Holiday season so here’s a list of the best matte lipsticks for Fall 2015 that are both new and older formulas I’ve used, loved, and didn’t have an issue with them draining the life moisture from my lips.
Temptu Color True Lipstick $24
If you buy just one matte lipstick this year please let it be Temptu Color True Lipstick. These are truly the best of the best in the matte lipstick world. Lightweight, incredible pigmentation, and a comfortable, lightweight demi-matte finish that never clings to drier areas! This is the type of matte lipstick that is life changing and will likely convert you to the joys of matte lipstick. Try it, you won’t regret it!
Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge $24
I’m not going to lie, Aqua Rouge happens to be the biggest PITA to remove but the wear is incredible. These will get you through the day without a hiccup and have a super pigmented formula with an elegant matte finish.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick $24
Creamy, dreamy, velvety! Stila’s formula is packed with pigment and applies like a gloss but has the finish of a stunning matte lipstick with a velvety finish that doesn’t accentuate drier areas and looks smooth and even through it’s five to six hour wear.
Sephora Luster Matte Long-Wear Lip Color $16
Sephora’s formula isn’t to be overlooked as these creamy liquid lipsticks apply like a dream and provide gorgeous long wearing color with a traditional matte finish that give lips a sophisticated look!
Urban Decay Matte Revolution Lipstick $22
Urban Decay’s formula is a little draggy but they wear like a champ with a very smooth, even finish and intense color pay off (did you expect any less from UD?) and a lightweight, barely there formula that wears quite comfortably!
