Another Year, Another Birthday for Lilith

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Captain Lilith and her First Mate

It’s my favorite time of the year. Fall, leaves, pumpkins, my own upcoming birthday, and of course, Lilith’s birthday! Lilith is the daughter of Elizabeth and Ted, co-founders of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. If you’ve been reading Musings of a Muse for a while you likely have read reviews on perfume oils from the Lab that date back as far as 2007. I’ve been buying, collecting, and wearing perfume oils from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab for around 10 years now and one of my favorite seasonal collections from them is the limited edition Halloween fragrances. Six years ago Beth gave birth to a gorgeous little girl and each year she celebrates the joy of motherhood (and Ted the joy of fatherhood) with a selection of limited edition fragrances that are truly treasured scents and very worth hauling.

For me they are particularly delightful scents because many of them are foody in nature and I’m all about sweet, foody, and fruity scents. Not only do I enjoy the oils but I’m always terribly touched by the lovely blurbs of memories that Elizabeth and Ted write for each perfume oil describing special moments and milestones in Lilith’s life!

So here we are yet another year with another round of lovely birthday perfume oils in honor of Lilith.

If you’re a lover of perfume oils you’ll adore some of these scents!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hahaha. “Not-healthy breakfast cereals” speaks to me. I haven’t tried any of BPAL’s foody/gourmand scents but these look really interesting. I ordered for the first time over the summer, so I’m excited to branch out more. I think it’s really cool and unique for a beauty blog that you do LE BPAL posts.

    • Isabella Muse

lol! me too! I ordered that one. Aw thanks! Bpal is such a great brand near and dear to my heart. I’ve been collecting for a long time and I love being able to introduce people to the brand and hearing about how they delighted they are with the scents. PS you should check out the site with these, I did only the note blurbs but each fragrance has a really cool memory about Lilith that’s worth reading! I always love reading Ted’s the most! He always writes such cute stuff about his daughter 🙂

  • Daisy

I’m new to BPAL myself and ordered Their famous Snake oil about a month ago. Smells divine, great customer service, fast shipping and I enjoy the unique variety of oils they have to offer. Thank you for the heads up on this collection, Muse!

    • Isabella Muse

yay my pleasure Daisy. mark your calendar, the supermoon is rising and with it the Halloweenies Perfume Oils 🙂

  • Iris

I’m looking forward to trying Meus Amor Aeternus. The notes sound amazing. Snake Oil and Dorian!

    • Isabella Muse

I love Dorian but I don’t like Snake Oil so I’m unsure how the two combined would be, it scares me a little ;-D

  • Camille

Catch me, dad sounds the most alluring! I’m looking for a fall scent and this sounds about right…that or blood and judgement but I fear that may smell too sweet for my liking…

  • Brooke Jones

    Dear Muse,

WHERE THE HELL IS MY CREDIT CARD??? I NEEEEEEDS all these!! I just got Mouse Circus, Aelopile, Hellcat, and Blood Kiss…love them all so much.

And a confession…you know how I told you about that ridiculous haul from Love Potion? Well…the sale happened. It got a lot worse. I need a storage building. And I am gonna have to sell a kidney.

    • Isabella Muse

HAHAHAHA OMG ME TOO! I did damage at that sale. I got a ton of the sugars and ended up getting several free roll-ons which I was very happy about! I’m starting to do more roll ons because I feel like the sprays are not as strong. What do you think? PS Don’t order Lilith’s blends yet, the Halloweenies are out next week (full moon) so you can order altogether and not pay shipping twice!

  • Brooke Jones

Girl….there you go..saving my ass as usual! I thought those were the Weenies! I am so glad you said that! I will definitely hold off because I know I will want those too!!

Which sugars did you haul?? I am sooooo jealous! I want several of them. Especially vanilla bean. It seems to get a lot of love on the forum.

I know what you mean about the sprays. I dunno…my skin seems to really eat up both the oil and the spray and I am looking for a solution. I actually bought supplies this afternoon to try to convert a few myself. I will let you know how it goes. I like A LOT of throw and I don’t get that with any indies so far.

    • Isabella Muse

Nooo! Lilith’s birthday first and after that the first full moon of Fall so lunacy oil will launch Sunday (it’s a super moon) and likely the Halloweenies at the same time 😀 No one wants to pay shipping twice. I love bpal but I hate paying shipping lol! Umm too many? LOL! PIC (with my freebies) https://www.musingsofamuse.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/unnamed.jpg just to name a few, licorice, carnations, mint, cantaloupe, cherries, oranges, lemons, french vanilla, vanilla….too many lol. Be careful with the sugars though, they are weird. I have some from a few years ago that are fruitier and sweeter, this formulation has almost a touch of incense to it…it’s not bad but I prefer the sweeter, fruity version. Oh for indies with excellent throw, linger, and wear try out purple cat creatives! https://www.etsy.com/shop/PurplecatCreatives?ref=l2-shopheader-name her scents are stupid good! I highly recommend warm and toasty, firecracker, and bubblecake. She’s a little expensive for the size but you won’t regret the purchase!!!!!!!!! I love I have someone else to talk to about indie fragrances yay!

  • Brooke Jones

    YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

(Brooke sings “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!!)

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but I really love you! You are welcome to squee with me at all hours of the day or night over indie fragrances!!!

Huge hugs and happy Friday!! (And happy hauling!!). Imma go there right NOW!

    • Isabella Muse

haha I love you back! It sounds GOOD TO ME! GO HAUL AND BE HAPPY ;-D I was so tempted by polyester spider web and the pencil fragrance but I refrained, must wait for reviews on those 😀
