About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Packaging is beautiful! I know it’s the packaging as well…but it’s these price heights that pushed me to learn how to make my own foundation. My foundation with the same ingredients (minus Bsimuth in which I replaced with Boron Nitride and Boron glow) but perhaps not the exact formulation (but very close!) costs me $4.60 a jar with the one time cost of the jar which is $4.00 for a nice one, wholesale. The initial cost of the ingredients is about the same price, around $40 but makes about 10 jars. Making makeup isn’t for everyone but if you like mineral foundation and have a smaller budget, it’s a neat deal =) The packaging looks very nice though! I hope Bare minerals makes a Bismuth free version soon though for those that are irritated by it.

Why arent you a bare minerals user?! Its crazy, I went from being a medium coverage liquid foundation user and as soon as my acne cleared away i started moisturizing and began using the bare minerals powder and im so impressed with the luminous and crazy natatural finish it gives which is so surprising for a powder!? I feel like its wayyy underrated or not as popular as it used to be.

Because the bismuth in the powder makes me itchy and I have dry skin so mineral powder isn’t a good pick for my skin type.
