Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip Review & Swatches

Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip4

Vintage Wine and Blushed Wine are two new, limited edition Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip Lipsticks that launched with the the Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Fall 2015 Collection. Well maybe they aren’t both liquid lipsticks one is actually a gloss!

Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip Lipsticks proved a little tricky to track down. Sonia’s limited edition collections have become more and more popular in the last few years and I find myself visiting several different Targets in the hopes of scoring what I am looking for as things sell out fast. And is it any wonder? Her makeup is pretty spectacular!

But at last I’m able to bring you a review of both after tracking Blush Wine which eluded me for this Fall!

Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip6

Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip come housed in a chubby little tubes with a houndstooth plaid burgundy print. It’s a very fashion forward packaging look for Fall as burgundy plaid prints seem all the rage at the moment, I personally have a pair of chucks in this exact print so my lipstick matches my shoes ha!

These is such a confusing formula but I’m so not complaining about that. Why? Because one is actually a liquid lipstick with a matte finish and the other is a soft, shiny lipgloss. Two formulas but they share the same name of “Liquid Lip”. Weird right? You would think they’d name them differently if the formulas weren’t consistent across the board but hey, like I said, I’m not complaining because I actually loved both.

Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip Swatches (Blush Wine and Vintage Wine)

Blush Wine is the gloss formula. This has a gel-like consistency with a soft, shiny finish that give lips a very nice a pretty tint of dusky brown pink (or mauve if you will). The formula isn’t sticky or tacky and wears quite comfortably for around three hours before shine and color wears away. It gives lips a nice plush look and looks very natural and pretty so if you’re doing an elaborate eye look this is great for a nice neutral lip look that adds color but doesn’t overwhelm. It’s actually a shade many people will likely reach for again and again and again! For that reason alone I purchased a back up.

Now Vintage Wine surprises as this is not a gloss but more of a velvety liquid lipstick formula. This has a creamy consistency with a matte finish that’s soft on lips without being dry. It does not crack, migrate, or feather through the wear and it provides opaque color to lips in the form of a pretty dark berry wine. It wears longer than Blush Wine at around nearly five hours.

These both have a little bit of a fragrance and flavor that reminds me of play-doh but it disappears fairly quickly after application.

I thought the inconsistencies in the formula was a rather interesting and delightful little surprise. Sonia Kashuk Grand Bazaar Liquid Lip no matter which color and formula you go with should be a very happy purchase. Each formula and shade is excellently formulated and come in fabulous Fall shades that are very, very wearable.

Love these!

Available now at Target and Target.com with a big old Muse Approval.

I was also quite confused with the difference in formula between the two colors. I got vintage wine first and loved the color and formula, so I had to track down blush wine. I was so disappointed! I’m not really a gloss girl to begin with and my lips are fairly pigmented, so blush wine did nothing for me. It had to go back. 🙁 I hope Sonia Kashuk eventually releases some permanent colors in the vintage wine formula. It’d totally make my day.

I was the opposite Chibi I was pretty happy with the inconsistencies. It was weird yes but I liked the fact one was a gloss and one a lipstick 🙂 Sorry you were disappointed though 🙁

Target must have distribution issues. I’m in Maryland and all the stores here had Blush Wine which I bought and really like. Couldn’t find Vintage Wine anywhere in my area.

    • Isabella Muse

I had the same problem! I think it might have just been a popular collection?!

  • Shannon

How does the Vintage Wine one compare to the Crushed Berry Matte lipstick in the Grand Bazaar collection that you reviewed previously? Do you have a preference? I got the Crushed Petal one and love the velvety feel…now trying to decide between getting it in the Berry or trying the liquid one instead…

    • Isabella Muse

There’s a little more red to the lipstick Shannon but if you’re looking to pair them together they should work nicely together. I don’t really have a preference, both are very nice and different enough to warrant purchasing both if you can!

  • Audrey

Yes, it was such a pain to track these down! I eventually lucked out and got all the lip products. The liquid lipstick formula inconsistency threw me off at first too! I was like, “did I get a bad tube?” lol. But after application, I quite liked it. Hopefully they plan to expand the color range of both the liquid lipstick and the non sticky gloss!

    • Isabella Muse

Right? I had a hard time tracking down one shade too! Oh I’d love more of these! They are so lovely!

  • Leah C

Her traditional lipsticks have the smell and taste too. I’m so glad you mentioned the smell and taste. When I saw you were reviewing them I was so hoping you would make a mention of the fragrance and taste. Thank you. I love your reviews. They are always spot on. Both colors look great on you but I love love love the Vitage Wine. Thanks for posting.

    • Isabella Muse

Ya know, it’s weird, because I thought the taste and smell was far stronger in these versus the regular line or am I crazy!? Aw thank you Leah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Your comment made my morning!

  • danadoo

I really don’t like the fact that the formula is not consistent. I love matte liquid lipsticks, but despise lip gloss. Why does Sonia not want her customers to know what they’re buying?

  • yelena

Blush wine is absolute perfection on you! I went on the website and was going to order but I couldn’t bring myself to spend $12 on drug store product when I just with held from buying a mac lippie for $17 :/

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks! Target has sales sometimes on her stuff with a $1 or $2 off, check their coupon section!

  • Karen

I have the darker shade of the matte lipstick, but now I want the darker shade here too (or maybe both). Guess I will be heading to Target tonight! And you do look lovely in both shades 🙂

  • Phyllis Reklis

Thank you for the review! I so want the Vintage Wine shade but both of my Targets are sold out!! do you know of a dupe or another source to buy this one? Even eBay has zero!

    thanks,
    a newbie here

    • Isabella Muse

Hi Phyllis! I’m not sure of a dupe for this shade and unfortunately don’t have another place to buy it 🙁 I don’t really have a shade in my own collection that looks anything like it to be honest! but hopefully some of my reader’s might have a rec for you! Have you tried heading to target.com and seeing if other surrounding stores around you have it in stock aside from the two you tried?!

      • Phyllis Reklis

Thank you for replying so promptly! This is such a friendly and helpful place to be! I did look and most stores within 40 miles have low or no stock!! the one closest to me says low but actually was out, so that is why I thought I would check with you.
I wonder if SK will refill the empty spots or move onto other products for the holidays??

        • Isabella Muse

aw my pleasure dear! Damn! Ok next best thing, any forum friends or twitter friends that can maybe get it in there area for you and send it over? You can paypal them funds!? 🙂 I sure hope they restock them at least online if not in stores as I’d love to grab backups!!

          • Isabella Muse

my pleasure! If I find a dupe in my collection I’ll let ya know!!!!!
