Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer Review & Swatches
If you have oily skin you have to read my review of Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer and after that, you can thank me! Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer was a purchase I made very, very randomly at my local Lush store. I didn’t know about Magical Moringa Moisturizer but I saw the texture and thought it looked a lot like Ultrabland Cleanser and my beloved and long gone Baby Face Facial Cleanser.
I have drier skin and a quick glance at the ingredients which included Argan Oil and Shea Butter and I was all aboard.
Later on I would realize that Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer is actually suitable for oily skin, like really oily skin! I know argan oil for oily skin? But yeah it works.
My plans for Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer were for nightly use as this is a thick, dense, solid balm. Lush describes it on the pot as a waxy consistency that transforms into a silky oil upon contact with skin. And I was all, “OMG! My dry skin needs this!” Not so much. If you have dry skin don’t bother. This is NOT for you.
If you have oily skin get to Lush!
Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer might not be a great pick if you’re both oily and sensitive as it does contain a good deal of fragrance as well as potential ingredients that could cause break outs. If you’re merely suffering from oily skin sans blemishes and you need some mattifying this little moisturizer (or face primer) will be your BFF. It smells like a citrus-y herbal fragrance kinda like Angels on Bare Skin to my nose!
As I said above this starts out as a dense solid balm but it warms up very quickly as you apply. It breaks down into an oily and glides onto skin easily. But wait, there’s more!
The balm is really interesting in the fact it goes through three different phases (below the balm is already fairly warmed up in my swatch but you aren’t see the dry down or the set which is way more mattifying compared to my slicker swatch). The first phase is balm, the second is waxy cream, the third is oil, and the last is velvety, powdery. As you apply the oiliness of the product sets to a super matte, velvety finish and gives your skin a smooth, softened surface. THIS DOES NOT WORK ON DRY SKIN! Don’t say I didn’t warn you 🙂 It kinda catches and drags on drier areas and accentuates them terribly. But on oily skin? It soaks up excess oil like a champ. My best friend used it as did my sister who both have oily skin and they absolutely loved the way it set to a matte, smooth finish. I can see myself loving this in the Summer but right now my skin is like the Sahara and this is the very worst thing to apply.
I think it’s very, very unique. And dare I say it can be confusing and a little intimidating as if you have oily skin you might take one look at it and shudder in horror believing it’ll make you even more shiny and oily than you already are. But nope! This sucks up excess oil like a champ and even blurs the appearance of smaller pores. Honestly, to me it’s more of a face primer than a moisturizer.
If your skin is oily and you need something that has super mattifying powers, Lush Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer is definitely what you need!
