Well-Kept Screen Cleansing Towelettes Review
I purchased some Well-Kept Screen Cleansing Towelettes ($6) at Sephora recently because they sounded rather cool! You can get a pack of 15 of these for a mere six bucks and basically they help clean up oil, makeup and other gunk from your cell phones, keyboards, and other devices.
I know, why is Sephora selling device cleansing wipes!? Weird right? But they are actually promoted as a cleansing wipe that acts to keep your skin clear and blemish free as all that oil, makeup, and gunk building up on your phone could potentially cause breakouts or blemishes.
I don’t like them.
Shifty eyes.
At this point in life we all live with a phone attached to our ear for whatever reason. Like I’ll be walking down a busy street at stupid AM O’Clock and hundreds of people have their phone glued to their ear and they are chatting happily away. I’m always thinking to myself, 1. “Jesus, I’m not even awake yet!” and 2. “Who are they talking to at 6:30AM?” I admit there have been moments in my life where I’ve been texting Dustin Hunter at some obscene hour of the day but I blame that on a time zone different. That counts right!??!
No but seriously, we all just live on the phone and apparently our phones are dirty, filthy, disgusting little magnets of bacteria. They also happen to have half our makeup smeared all over them by the end of the day.
Well-Kept Screen Cleansing Towelettes sets you up with a pack of well packaged chic little wipes so you can wipe away all the gunk your phone has collected and basically sanitizes it in a swipe Cool right?
I love the idea of these, I just don’t love the way they feel and work. Sorry cool people at Well-Kept! Them be the breaks! Plus there’s nothing special in the ingredients aside from water and alcohol! Shrug!
So why don’t I like them….
Well 1. They leave my phone with a layer of wet all over it. Yuck! And 2. I don’t like the plastic-y quilted design of the wipes which leads be back to number 1. as I do believe the quilted design is the culprit for leaving wet streaks all over my phone screen. If you happen to use Asian Sheet Masks you might have run across ones that you need to peel a piece of plastic off the back of the mask in order to use it. That piece of plastic is kinda sorta how these wipes feel. They aren’t really soft and they have this weird quilted textured design that doesn’t work well for cleaning a screen! As you can see in my image below I still have smudge spots all over my phone after using a wipe!
Not cool!
It’s a great idea but it’s rather poorly executed and expensive as hell too when you think about the fact you can get like a 1000 pack of eyeglass cleaning wipes for two bucks at the Evil Empire (aka Walmart) that do the same thing.
Sorry Well-Kept.
These just aren’t for me.
If you want to try ’em by all means grab a pack at Sephora.com.
