Benefit They're Real Tinted Primer5

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer ($24) is a new permanent mascara primer that Benefit is launching for Spring 2016 that’s available in January!

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer is actually pretty fun as it works in one of two ways. You can either use it alone for fuller but natural lashes or you can use it as a primer to add depth, definatin, and fullness to lashes prior to mascara.

Hey, I’m not complaining! I like my beauty products multitasking!

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer is a light weight water-resistant gel formula available in a single shade of brown. If the brown worries you, don’t worry, it actually applies fairly dark on my lashes.

AS you can see it comes in the same barrel as Benefit’s popular They’re Real Mascara but with a new extra flexible brush that’s design to move with your lashes. This brush is actually pretty cool as it’s super soft and the flexing head allows for really good separation. I don’t like a separated lash look because it makes lashes look more natural and fluttery. This isn’t the look I personally like but the reason this is good is when you’re using this as a primer the separation makes for easy building with another mascara on top so you don’t have a clumpy mess when building.

As I mentioned you can use on your bare lashes. It’ll separate, add length, and give you a more natural, fluttery look that Iquite like what I get from the It Cosmetics Tightline Mascara I like so much but with a more definition.

For me the joy in Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer is the primer option. I don’t like the fluttery, natural look so I use this as a primer before my regular mascara and I LOVE how it looks with my favorite mascara on top. As I said it separates lashes at first application, adds a nice bit of lash for me to build on with my own mascara, and the fact it seperates means I can easily get extra volume between lashes when applying my own mascara. So the final results are pretty impressive as my lashes look fuller and longer.

This formula is so very lightweight on lashes so you don’t have to fear breakage plus it removes easily but doesn’t smudge or flake on my drier eyes. Plus since the formula is so light it allows for building and layering very easily with another mascara so no clumping or gooey mess. Below I used it with Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes.

I wasn’t a fan of using Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer alone but that doesn’t mean you won’t! I’m just a fan of more dramatic lashes and this is more about a natural look! But as a primer? It rocked my world. The formula is light enough to allow easy building with another mascara with no clumping issues and it acts as a nice way to prep lashes while separating them and adding length that your own mascara can easily build on.

All in all a nice and handy beauty tool to have around for killer lash looks!

I am a huge fan of lash primers! I love the It Cosmetics primer. I wear it alone on low -key makeup days ,like running to the grocery store. Just is so easy and makes my lashes look great and like I have nothing on plus it’s conditioning them. I like the Dior Maximizer for volume. Lancome Cils booster for length. I have been wanting to try this. Although, I’m not a fan of waterproof. But, I could see how it could be handy. Thanks for that coupon! I’m going to have to test this out! Happy Holidays Muse! 🙂

Thanks for the sneaky peeky review! The sample in my cart along with some other deals for my 20% off (everything) platinum coupon. Woo hoo. What is the mascara that you layered on top of it?

Ooh this sounds awesome Muse! I love all primers and fibers mascara due to my short Asian lashes lol was not blessed. I have both Dior and Lancome and I think they re both great Lancome might be a smidge better. Have you tried the Estee lauder primer Muse??? It’s the recent black 1 that everyone raves about. I have the Too faced and Tarte’s fiber mascara as well, the only thing that makes my lashes look like there’s something. Only thing that I hate about it is that if I touch my lashes it’ll stick together and that’s the end of it. ..a horrible mess. Have you tried youniqe fibers too?? It’s a never ending search for the best mascara!

I haven’t tried Yonique or The Estee Lauder one Terry! But have tried the Tarte myself and I love the Too Faced ones 🙂
