Lipstick Queen All That Jazz Lipstick Review & Swatches
I purchased a Lipstick Queen All That Jazz Lipstick ($30) because, you know, Lipstick Queen. Why is the brand so damn hard to resist? Truly between Bite Beauty and Lipstick Queen I’m not sure who I love the most.
Lipstick Queen All That Jazz Lipstick launched earlier this Fall in four shade selections and is now part of the permanent collection.
The metallic trend is kinda out but that’s what these lippies are all about. They have multi-dimensional pearls that reflect light and give lips a gorgeous light catching metallic finish.
Lipstick Queen All That Jazz comes housed in a jazzy silver sparkled black tube. So yeah, this is starting out good as the packaging is pretty awesome!
I purchased Hot Piano because it was red and metallic. I mean do I need any other reason than those two alone, right? Lipstick Queen calls it an iconic red, to me, it kinda reminds me of Dorothy’s ruby red slippers! The shade is a lovely ruby with red micro-glitter. This is a weird shade as depending on the blush shade I’m wearing it looks different. If I wear it with pink it looks like a berry cranberry wine and if I wear it with peach it kinda reflects burnt orange-y red. It’s interesting that’s for sure.
It has a very smooth, easy glide formula that almost feels gel-like in consistency. I didn’t expect anything less in terms of quality and formula from Lipstick Queen. This delivers beautifully formulated color to lips but I do have one pet peeve regarding the formula. Although it wears for a nice six hour time frame I hated the fact that it left shimmer on my lips after it faded. I’m terrible about reapplying lipstick so the fact this leaves a glittery shimmery layer on my lips makes me look all kinds of weird and undone if I don’t complete reapply the lipstick. Plus it’s the type of shimmer you can’t simply wipe away, it just stays and sticks around no matter how hard you rub at it.
Aside from the shimmer, I really liked the formula and the pigmentation also proved excellent with a opaque coverage on a single application. It also had no fragrance or flavor so sensitive users will rejoice. The metallic finish is quite finish and has the lipstick has a hint of shine as well as shimmer to it. I think it swatches a bit lighter and streakier than it applies on lips so just a head’s up if my swatch disappoints you!
All in all Lipstick Queen All That Jazz Lipstick is another fabulous lipstick from the brand.
It’s available now at Ulta and Ulta.com.
